NO, not the Casino! I'll lose any dough I have left. ;D Since it will be in the summer I would like to see the reunion held at a place where one can walk around if they want to take a break for a while. That's why I thought holding it at the beach again people would enjoy but at another place if the last one didn't suit you. As far as the cops, I'm sure because of the hugh clamp-down on DWI's, that problem will be address anywhere you decide to hold the reunion and rightfully so. Just something each individual has to deal with and shouldn't be a reason in deciding where to hold the reunion. ps: Tony, don't fret. I have plenty of "V" candy I'll sneak ya if Jay takes yours away. Gotta love it when all your kids give you candy when they know you're trying to diet.

Hi JP. Cops are everywhere as far as DWI goes. I don't see the monarch as a problem. It is a classy joint. The sons of Italy has a main bar and a service bar, a full kitchen, and a huge ballroom and dance floor.I will give Ronnie a call about the beeches. And I haven't heard a thing from any other musicians about playing at the reunion. It would be nice to know who wanted to sing what, and what key they wanted them in. I hope all the songs are in the white keys. talk with you later bro.

Jay, no problem kiddo. My pleasure. I think you're right about having it at the beach again. After all that's where all the memories are that we all enjoyed back in the 50's & 60's and where we went to enjoy our local bands. Move the reunion and you take all that away. Plus like I said before, if people want to take a break for a while, they can walk around the beach.

Jay, my OLDER friend, I have one keyboard that will replace an entire orchestra. I have 2 electronic drum machines that keeps better meter than any human. There has never been a machine invented that can replace a human voice. And if I must say... The voice... I got. So how is your cute little pot belly doing?

The ancient piano was an old rectangular shape and it had probably been last tuned up to celebrate the inauguration of Calvin Coolidge. When we finally got our instruments to agree, I was in E flat. Transposing to E-flat on the fly wasn't difficult since almost everything we played was in I-IV-V and also (I forget the numbers) C Am F G7. But staying on top of those blacks in a sweaty environment was difficult. My new digital keyboard will transpose a full octave in either direction, so thats no longer a problem and I don't need to learn my riffs in a variety of keys! Now if I could just remember what I'm playing when I get halfway through a song!

Dave, I hear ya ! I have been guilty of forgetting what key I was in or the lyrics . I would just close my eyes and let my fingers do the walking. As far as the lyrics, I would just make them up. One of the worst gigs i had was playing a piano bar in Pittsburg. Folks were sitting all around the piano breathing beer breath and smoke on me. Even with the fake books in front of me I would mess up. It's good to be retired LOL.

Dave. I think that would be I-VI-IV-V. It's been a LONG time for me.

Dave. I think that would be I-VI-IV-V. It's been a LONG time for me. Yup, all I need to do is count 'em. Hahahaha! But come to think of it, we never used those designations when I was playing. Like I said, if it wasn't either of those progressions, the song was a standard and we got the fake book out. And the first time I looked through the music in a fake book, I realized that before our time folks were writing some nice music. But we hammered on with I-IV-V for the fast songs and I-VI-IV-V (C Am F G7) for the slow. This last progression struggled wearily on into folk music and therefore the Folk Mass in the Catholic Church. I came to hate it and would sit there in the pew thinking of what I'd do to their guitars If I Had A Hammer. What I should have done was listen to Bob Seger:

Amen! Someone referred to folk as:- "that shit that almost caught on in the 60's" I'm a sucker for nice chord changes though. The standards had lots and I much prefer Motown R&B to the Nashville for the same reason (jazz influence was responsible for that I've been told).
