I have waited for someone to post a thread about Obama and his Pastor. Since nobody has I thought I would. I know how the polls around the world are doing and thought that I would check with all the posters here.
I personally thought from the beginning he was to good to be true. I voted that I was never going to vote for him.

I don't think there is anyone on the ticket I want at this point.
It's either Mr. No Experience, Mrs. Arrogant or Mr. On Deaths Door............either way we lose.

Todd - I've listened to the TV News Anchors disect Obama's speech trying to distance himself from the remarks made by his Pastor of over 20 years. Bottom line - none of them believe he accomplished what he tried to do (that he didn't agree with his Pastor), As of this morning, Obama is also slipping in the Polls.
My personal opinion is that race differences will always exist. Whites are bitter because of reverse discrimination in the work place, and the lack of responsibility by a large number of blacks, and the crimes which are committed by them. Blacks hate the whites for all the segregation that was forced on them ever since they were brought to the USA as slaves. The race issue is too deeply ingained in both races and IMO, Obama would just stir things up and end up inflaming BOTH races.
I would NOT vote for him.

I find it interesting that people are harsher for Obama and his pastor than they were against Ferraro and Clinton. Yeah Ferraro resigned, but it was purely political to save clinton's campaign. I've read dereliction of duty, you'd be amazed at how racist the clintons are, even for democrats. One of her aids walked up to Colonel Buzz Robertson while he was talking with the Miami Dolphins coach, who was black at the time, and asked where the head coach was. The colonel pointed out to the aid that the coach was next to him. The aid said, no the real coach, where is he? The coach said, I'm as real a coach as any. Disappointed, the aid walked away and blurted out how miami has a black coach, no wonder they suck. The colonel felt so embarassed, all he could think to do was apologize to the coach for himself. The coach took it in stride.
So I sincerely doubt clinton meant anything with her speech against ferraro's comments. I'm confident she totally agrees. But realizes you need the entire party to win the white house and if you piss off of the majority of them, the blacks, you're going to lose.

I think the only way we're going to have a good president is if one of us runs. ;-)

Swimmy,
That is interesting about the Clinton's and Black's. Didn't Bill after his term go to Harlem and was active with the community? I don't really remember because I can't stand either one of the Clinton's but I remember joking that it had to suck for the Secret Service.

One of the things that I don't like, and you can call it what you want, is that everyone refers to Obama as "black". In reality he isn't any more "black" than he is "white". So any "race card" that is being played out, in my opinion, is being played for that specific reason. I won't vote for him because of the lack of experience behind him......that and I think he really is just a "flash in the pan".

Anyone that could listen to 20 years of that racist rhetoric from the pulpit cannot, in a million years convince me that he would not be racist is his own views. I know if I went to church every Sunday and listened to that sort of hatred, I would be finding another church unless I agreed with the man's teachings and opinions. I am grateful that this relationship with this minister came to light now. I guess it will be a one man race, by McCain now. I certainly don't want to see that carpet bagging, lard ass senator from NY back in the whitehouse. We are back to the norm, of having to vote for the lesser of evils, instead of the brightest of stars.

I have to agree with that Clipper. What a lot of people overlook is that he was a member of his campaign up until that video hit the web last week.
So twenty years ago or not, he's had the guy as an adviser till it hit the fan. Who's he kidding?

The best way to "measure" a man is to see who he hangs out with- and well we now know of atleast 2 (3 if you count his wife) ultra "annoying" people that he surronds himself with- how many more are there? And what are his real views?
