Shawshank him, i.e. snipe him in the courtyard and claim he tried to escape.

But seriously, I wonder how much more involved sammy rivera was. We may never know, but I don't think cirino was the sole guilty party.

Good!!!!! I can only hope the Correction Officers which are Molina's BOSSES for the rest of his life never, never forget the cowardly way he took the life of a fellow Officer. The only salvation that comes from this incident is knowing that Officer Lindsay didn't suffer and is in a far better place than here on this Earth.
God Bless Thomas Lindsay and, hopefully, he can now rest more easily knowing his killer is just beginning his trip into Hell.

Swimmy - Utica is not that big of a City and UPD knows exactly who is doing what. Believe me, if Sammy Rivera had any part in the death of Thomas Lindsay, the UPD will make him pay - one way or another.

But they offered him a clean break to rat out Cirino. There was some conflicting testimony that begs some questions. Not enough to draw reasonable doubt, but enough to wonder who else was involved.

From what I read, the "clean break" was NOT pursuing the drug charges against Sammy Rivera. That doesn't mean there won't be other crimes in the future he can be charged with!
I also think the UPD knows if anyone else was involved, but just don't have enough proof to bring it into Court.
But, Swimmy, as the saying goes - "there are all kinds of ways to skin a cat"!

I think, based on laws, they had no choice but to drop any charges against Rivera. I remember reading something in the paper about it last year. My BIL says either Attica, Auburn or Clinton, and he should hope for Clinton. Attica is seriously hard time and Auburn is filthy. In any event, there will be LEO's that will want to beat this guy (some will) but once in prison, he's got status. Cop killers get noteriety.

That doesn't mean there won't be other crimes in the future he can be charged with! That's unrelated to the current mess. I'm not talking about future crimes he may commit. Froggy, What does BIL stand for?

Sooner or later he will commit another crime and get arrested and off to jail he goes. Just wait and watch.

Froggy, What does BIL stand for? BIL = Brother In Law. Swimmy - Sammy Rivera leads a life of crime. Sooner or later he will commit another crime and get arrested and off to jail he goes. Just wait and watch. Sammy Rivera is a dope dealer. There is an article in the OD where the DA is saying he is indebted to Rivera for cooperating. Rivera had a pocket of dope when Lindsey pulled him over. Cirino stated in one interview that he would have shot Rivera if there wasn't a kid in the car. So sooner or later Rivera will get busted or Rivera will get killed. I must ask the question of the DA who is now indebted to this POS, does he get a free pass next time he is charged with a crime? Yes Brother In Law, taking acronyms from Thelma with all this GD talk, etc. My BIL is on work release from State Prison and living with us until he gets paroled later this year. Interesting perspective he has on the "other" side of the fence.

Thelma,
Tom may not rest in peace because allot of these older Prisons are some what haunted, if you believe in that stuff. Even here locally allot of guys have seen and heard some crazy stuff in buildings when it gets dark outside and the lights go off.
I still think he will go to Attica or Sing Sing and believe me there are allot of creepy buildings in these old Prisons. Allot of unsettled spirits with unfinished business to take care off.
Molina may have allot of sleepless nights with Tom and other Police Officers from the past standing over him with a big grin on their faces.
Everyone knows about the brotherhood. It is something that is in one forever.

IMO - Sammy Rivera has used up all his "free passes". The DA got what he wanted from him - slate is now clean. IF Rivera continues to break the law with his criminal activities, he WILL BE arrested and sent to jail. Keep watching the papers or the OCJ Website naming all the inmates; sooner or later you will see Rivera's name there.

How long until we hear about jurors being pressured by others to change their minds and vote guilty? I don't think there's any prohibition against that. The law doesn't stipulate methods of reaching an agreement.

This is from that "other" forum. It's scares me how some people intentionally wish to remain ignorant. I already explained to him that the state proved its case, as evidenced by the guilty verdict. Wcup102 explained better than I did that the judge did not "bully" the jury into a guilty verdict. And GMO still insists on this. I give up.
Froggy, That is an interesting perspective. Perhaps, if Sammy is lucky to survive to another arrest, a letter to the editor reminding the da of his indebtedness should be submitted and urge that this be taken into consideration when determining whether to charge him with something.
