Hi all, Please pardon me if this seems like a plug as that not what it's intended to be. The Utica 912ers are a group of people interested in bringing our country back to a place we were on September 12, 2001. Inspired by Glenn Beck from Fox News' idea, the912project.com, 912ers are not seperated by red states, blue states or political parties. On 9/12 we were united as Americans standing together strong to protect the values of the greatest country ever created. Ask yourself these questions: * Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it? * Do you believe that your voice isn’t loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore? * Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach…as if you’re completely alone? If you’ve answered YES, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Once you pull back the curtain, you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all. We surround them - Logon to www.utica912ers.com

Concerned, you disappeared. I don't know, though, I'd rather see Principle No. 4 err on the side of family authority than witness the opposite direction we're seeing today.
I will say, however, that the choice of Dick Morris as a spokesman is a disappointment.
Welcome, Will. Glad to have you here on the forum, where ideas are not always met with wholesale agreement, but they are usually met with good grace.

Good choice of words Dave. USUALLY makes it a "safe" statement to make.

By the obvious gap in posts I can assume some negative posts were deleted. I wish that wouldn't happen as Id like to address them. Or at the very least posters with negative comments go right ahead and post em on my site.

I did not delete any of the posts Will, and we seldom have had to delete any posts over the entire life of the forum. If a post came up missing, one of the moderators found it in violation of the rules, or was blatantly inappropriate for one reason or another. This forum is very liberal and open in what it allows to be posted, and our major requirement in posting is that it remain civil, no matter how much one opposes the other's opinion.
Censoring and/or steering discussion in any particular direction is not a factor or a purpose in the running of this board.
I am not sure what happened or why, but I can assure you that there was no ulterior motive or political reason for it. You will find that moderation here is quite fair, and hardly ever necessary. Hope that my explanation puts to rest any suspicion that anything covert or prejudicial may have occurred. I guess I was not following this thread closely yesterday.
In the spirit of cooperation, if such an incident were to occur that we might want to delete a post, I can assure you that when deleting the post, I would advise the person posting the objectionable post to address it to you at your site, or in a PM on this board.

All the posts are numbered -- when a post is deleted in a thread, either by a moderator or by the original poster, it leaves a gap in the post numbering. I see no gap in this thread.

It was response number 1 The number one now appears on my post, but my post was not the first response. It was a comment on 912's Principle No. 4, and it was evidently removed by the poster.
My post must have been logged in as No.1 after the original first post was deleted.

No accusations of anything... Just like healthy debate is all. I see the numbering of posts now.. Didn't see that before. Just the course of conversation was confusing. Cheers all!

Not a problem Will. Just wanted to clarify our stance on moderation. It is almost NONEXISTENT and that is because it is seldom necessary, LOL. Welcome once more. Oh, the debate does get QUITE healthy on occasion. I do sometimes get nervous with the tone a thread begins to take, but then it seems that the members are all pretty civil, and they usually turn themselves around and resolve any hostility that starts to creep into their posts. In the 15 months that the forum has been online, we have only had to delete 3 accounts, encouraged one other to go elsewhere, and I can count on my two hands the number of posts that we have deleted as moderators and administrator. We try to be very fair and unbiased. Other than the rules that are posted at the top of the index, which we are quite strict about, we allow just about any subject, in good taste, to be posted and discussed. Being as we have developed a seemingly "G" or "R" membership, I have been known to delete and change an offensive word to bring it in line with acceptable vocabulary. There IS a list of censored words, and if you happen to post one of them, a sometimes humorous substitute will appear in your thread. Other than that, you are free to post unrestricted. Some of my word censoring is justified by the fact that WE ARE LINKED ON OTHER SITES and we want to keep it clean enough for THEIR readers to enjoy our forum also. It is a delicate balance and we maintain it without difficulty due to the membership we have. That is what separates us from TOPIX, and other such loosely moderated sites.

But you have to like the "I farted" messages that continually show up on Topix.
