Thanks all! You make me blush. Of course, you've heard it all from me before. I've been writing that speech for more than a year now here at Clipper's Corner -- I do tend to pontificate. Lucy, hint: google don't tread on me t-shirt You can find those, and other equally inspiring items at www.cafepress.com

hmmmm, Bobbiez, I think you should calm down, back off, and check your facts before making a blanket statement about "all Uticans, ect." And, I think you should aplogize, fold up your tent, and move on to another crisis. Sorry, Fiona, but the lack of participation in this event indicates that Bobbiez just might be right. Besides, she has the right to her opinion, and to express that opinion. And no apology is needed for having and expressing one's opinion; that's another great thing about being an American.

There are rumblings of even bigger, even better gatherings to be held on the Fourth of July. Perhaps we'll see such goings-on at Ft. Stanwix in Rome as well as many, many other communities across America - I sure hope so!
Utica's will likely be held on the 15th....... ;D

Our Congress didn't even notice the Tea Parties. (borrowing from another thread, you could say we were as effective as the Genesis group).
I watched the US Senate voting on the next budget last night and their spending dream goes on unabated.

Yes, and Arcuri will remain oblivious, since he's now on the "Invite List" for the Weekly Wednesday Party held at The 'Bamster crib.... the President also supposedly was unaware of the events....all the more reason why we American Citizens can NOT give up!

This thread has been very instructive. I didn't know Bobbbiez was an American. I thought she was from West Utica. (WHERE are you, Bobbbiez? Every time you go missing from this forum I get worried. That you're at large.)

Dave, thanks for the concerns, but don't fret. I'm laying low and behaving myself. Just like the Doc and all you bitched for me to do. See, I do listen once and a while. ;D Oh by the way, I am known as a "Westie" and damn proud of it.

Yeah, I was doing rather well, I thought, till I saw the Doc Tuesday and he prodded at my foot sending me right through the ceiling. It's pretty sore now and I'm just trying to keep it elevated at all times. Makes it feel much better. Just can't get to my puter much. At least he said it's healing well with very little swelling. Just didn't realize how much he cut until I saw it on Tuesday. Now, I know why he wants me off my feet for three weeks. Looks like Frankenstein's foot. I am really doing well. Just getting very bored sitting around. Not in my character. Don't worry my friend. I will try to add my two cents here on the forum when I can. Do miss y'all.

Lucy, which day? Just got home from Utica's Tea Party and I counted 27 people being there. That makes a total of 42 people if you count both days. I was upset at first until the head organizer assured me that many people from Utica were at Rome's last night because of the more convenient time held and had signed the petitions they were sending to all our legislators. He also stated the confusion and mix up concerning the date and poor advertising for Utica was major factors also. He promised in the future that all would be greatly improved. Even with the small turnout because of the energy of the people who were there attention was observed. Some were interviewed by representatives from YouTube. My hats off to all those who participated. Had a great time with y'all. I did cause a little hassle myself as usual. I really shouldn't say I was the one who caused it but I did finish it. At one point this guard from the State Office building came out to announce to us not to blocked the sidewalk (27 people didn't block anyone from entering the building) and not to stand in the large area near the building. Well, I almost pi**ed my pants laughing so hard. Finally, I composed myself and told the guard that we were the ones that owned the building, paid his wages and that he better educate himself on the right to assemble. Needless to say, he went back inside and we didn't see him again. That alone was worth my two trips down to the Tea Party in Utica. Hi all, As the organizer of the tea party in Utica, I'd like to thank everyone who made it out. We had about a week to plan and the wrong date was posted on the national website and the Utica OD which resulted in low numbers. As Bobbiez said, we had about 27-30 people there on the 16th and while the numbers were low the enthusiasm was high. Many people driving by honked in support as they drove by. Every City bus that went by waved and honked and one person, and only one took the time to stop in the street, roll down their window and shout "go home", we didn't go. There was video taken to be placed on youtube and the Utica Daily news was there to interview us. There is also video available for download on the website in the videos section at www.utica912ers.com. It was funny to see the security guard come out and move the 27 some people from blocking the drones of people trying to enter the state office building. I think Bobbiez had it right when she said "This is my building and I'll stand here if I want to". We didn't see him for the rest of the afternoon. The Utica912ers group is having a meeting at the Utica Library 5/5/09 at 6:30pm in the music room. More info is posted on our site in the events section of the forums. I encourage everyone to logon and check it out. We welcome all input. If there are any questions I can answer I'll do my best and if I don't know the answer, give me time and I'll find out for you. Best, Will Admin - Utica912ers.com | UticaTeaParty.com

WELCOME TO THE FORUM WILL. Glad to have you aboard. Community action always has its place among us that love the City of Utica, and the Mohawk Valley. People like yourself, Bobbbiez, Fiona, Rod, Larry Jr, and all the NH concerned citizens group, keep government on it's toes. I thank you for that. I hope to be back there sometime in the not too distant future, depending on the housing market here in Tennessee and the economy. Always planned on simply selling this house here in Tennessee and moving back "home" when my mom and dad were gone. Funny how the world doesn't always allow for our best laid plans to come off without a hitch or two. Glad you decided to join us and to share your agenda with us. The forum gets more interesting and diverse every day, and the membership is easy to get along with, but adamant in their opinions. Have a great day Will, and keep on posting.

Will, welcome and happy to see you made it to the forum. ;D Will try to make the meeting on the fifth but can't promise, because of the healing foot. Will do my best to attend. Also, want to thank you and your associates in all the hard work you are doing for our areas. It's a breathe of fresh air to know others are willing to get involved. I'm being kind of selfish too in giving my compliments to you and yours. Maybe now, at my age, I can sit back just a little knowing I have found others willing to take my place. You're doing a great job my friend.
