I'll be at the Tea Party on the lawn at Ft. Stanwix in Rome. I've asked to be placed on the agenda for a 5-minute rant. I pray I can remain coherent for that long.

I think David Townsend will be at the one in Rome if I'm not mistaken. I think I saw that on WKTV this morning. It was early morning so who knows what i saw.

I spoke with Len Jerod, the organizer of the Rome Tea Party. He said all the local pols with be there -- Townsend, Destito and Griffo. But he will not be letting them address the audience.
The event is from 4 to 6, Lucy. Tell your hubby to show up on his way home from work.

They've all gone along with turning New York into the tax catastrophe that it is. You would think they'd show just a little bit of shame.

With it, they wouldn't have been able to be elected. Reading our local weekly's Letters To The Editor a few days ago, I was struck by the words of a local politician as he tried to line up on the opposite side of an issue with an argument that no sensible person would offer in a civil discussion with a third grader. Now, I know this man and he is not THAT stupid. But he is evidently paying his dues to the party of his choice as they attempt to provide differentiation on issues. I could not do that and show my face in public. I still have some pride. Before that letter, I might have voted for him because he appears adequate, even well intentioned. But now that he's debased himself in public so he can qualify to run for dog catcher (not really, but functionally not much different), I wouldn't trust the sorry sob enough to vote him in to any office. Including dog catcher.
