"I think that my uncle may have played there a few times also. He played in a band with Marv Potocki also, but I don't know if it was when he was in Kit's band or not. Was Marv a bass player? If so, then it was probably not the band with Kit."
"Marv played guitar. I found a picture of him. However it's hanging on Tony's wall. He said I could definitely come down there and scan the pictures of the bands that I don't have pictures of yet. However I have to figure how to get that done. I have a laptop but no USB ports for my scanner."
I played in some bands with Marvin when I was a "kid". I also played at Lou's and have some stories about that place! Marvin was mentioned in a piece in the Jay Lively College Heights Herald some years ago and he appeared to have fallen on some hard times.

my uncle Jim Gaylord played drums in a band with Marv Potocki as well as with Kit back in those days, but I don't know if it was at the same time or not. Kit could tell us for sure. I do remember the restaurant. My mom and dad took us there when I was a little kid. the New Family Restaurant and Pescatore's on Albany Street were my parent's favorites in those days. Who is your uncle richmc?

i don't know why but I can't place Cosmos' New Family restaurant. Was this the one on the corner of Bleecker and Kossuth and possible I know it as Nash's. All I remember is a small luncheonette a few doors down from there and don't ever think there were any restaurants the rest of the block. Gee and I grew up in this neighborhood and even lived in it when I moved away 1980.

OMG! This bar was around the corner from the middle school I attended. Scary spot when you're a kid. It looked like the biker bar from hell! A few years later, it became "Uncle Joe's". There were a few bars in Frankfort that served us even though we were in high school (and the owners knew it), but I never went to Adams Apple/Uncle Joe's

Marvin was mentioned in a piece in the Jay Lively College Heights Herald some years ago and he appeared to have fallen on some hard times. Marv and I played together when the Beetles first came out and figured out chords to their songs. We didn't play very many gigs but the name of the group was Bogan and the Gworps. I think we played at Lou's before that with Steve Czarnocki Conners). I've been trying to figure who you are and think I've figured that you used to live on West Street in Whitesboro. I'm pretty sure we played together at Lou's and the Corner Tavern in Little Falls. A very long time ago. I found the article about Marv and it had me in tears. Looks like he's made a come back. I remember him playing Chet Atkins style better than Chet. I somehow ran into him in New York City where he was with a couple of guys that did the Rightous Brothers numbers in French. It was fantastic!

I found an ad for my aunt & uncle's old place, The S & K Restaurant, but I couldn't figure out how to just post the ad & not the whole newspaper page. : (

Denise if you know how to use a photo editing program just crop the ad from the newspaper then post it.

Does anyone remember the name of the restaurant that was located near ICL on Horatio St. in North Utica .. across from Don’s Ford. I think it was in the late 70s or early 80s

I can't remember the name but we ate there occasionally. The German Couple that ran it started the restaurant originally in the old Benn Nursing Home building on Maynard Drive and later moved it to the plaza on the arterial across from Don's. Great food.
By the way, welcome to the group. Looking forward to your posting on a regular basis.

I also remember it being a German couple. I’ve asked a couple friends that worked at ICL which was in the same plaza and they also can’t recall the name.
