my girl is lactose countrygal.. regular milk hurts her pretty bad.. in small doses she can manage but a bowl of ceral cripples her.
besides... i am rooting for the price of corn to shoot right up because of its demand as fuel so you all can sell the cows and make twice the profits you make now...

Yeah, we don't have much other than chain places down here. That's why I fill up every time we home! :-) Although, I will say we have been getting more and more decent non chain Italian restaurants of late.

Yeah LJ, I still eat the pig's ass. I just dust'er off and throw it in the pan, haha. I can't eat processed turkey for some reason. I can eat roasted turkey, like we make for thanksgiving, but the other things like turkey breast cold cuts, turky hot dogs and other turkey products cause me major tummy pains and other problems. Must be something in the processing or the chemicals.
I have to give ya a recipe for pork that I bet you never tried. I learned it from a butcher.
It is for deep fried pork rings. When you kill a pig, you shoot it in the forehead, and then run to the back, and when the little butthole puckers up and protrudes, you can slice off 3 or 4 rings if you are really quick. Breaded with seasoned breading and deep fried, they are as good as chicken wings any day. LOL.
The recipe can also be made with beef rings, but you have to marinate them over night because they are much tougher, haha.
Gee, country gal, the next time ya see Ron and Wanda, have Ron save ya a batch, haha.
No wonder my cholesterol is high. Hmmmm.

Just a quick question. You guys are talking about Rosarios. Is there still a rosario's in Utica? I know that the original founder's widow, Marie, closed the one in N. Utica when they sold the land to Stewart's for a gas island.
I remember the first and original Rosario's when Russ and Marie were young and had the place on James St.

Rosario's is still there and the pizza is Okay.....if you love it, I am assuming you're into that thicker semi deep dish stuff. Not me.....I like real hand tossed Pizza with thin crust that you can fold and eat.
For my money Frank's in Waterville, Charlies in North Utica, or a new place on Commericial Drive Papa Pardi's is the best. Venice is great too but they have to improve their customer service before I ever go back. I can only take a young girl being rude to me so many times.

Damn my mouth is watering. I remember many years ago I roasted a whole pig for several friends of mine; did the digging a whole in the ground and filling it with hot coals etc for the roasting. Stayed up all night with several beers. I still forgot most of what I did.
What in the hell is rice milk?
I exixted on Pizza Hut while in graduate school now I can't get near a place without the heaves.
Don't wait on the corn response for releif of gas prices; I took a tumble in the stocks in the past week. But I have to admit I'm gonna ride this one out...getty up cowboy

I can take whatever rudeness is thrown at me to get my hands on a slice of Venice, my favorite slice around town.
Hey Los Jibs, if the price of corn gets any higher beer is going to cost more than gasoline. (Actually it already does, Saranac is about $5.74 a gallon. But sometimes you've got to get a tank of premium.) The farmers who grow our malts are growing more corn now because the price is so high. Expect beer prices to rise as malt shortages occur.

I can't remeber exactly which corner Rosarios was on when they started on James years ago. I almost think it was possibly around Dudley Ave. Someone most likely will come back and tell us for sure!
My goodness, I guess I used to go there in the early 70's. I was single and living in an apartment across from the fur shop near Luizi's drug store.
Ah those were the days. I was a recently recovering alcoholic, and had strippers and topless dancers living downstairs. It made for some entertaining late nights. I remember hearing a ruckus one night and when I looked out the front window, one of the girls was chasing some guy down James with a butcher knife and she was stark naked. When a car stopped, she hollered at the poor driver and said "haven't you ever seen a naked woman before" Haha.

I drink guiness so my beer price is already sky high........
I agree that venice has great pizza but I'm a stickler for customer service.....it doesn't even have to be great....just has to exist.
