www.uticaod.com/homepage/x1637670280This is an article in the OD this morning where past criminal acts of the hoodlum that is accused of shooting Officer Lindsey were discussed in Court. He has had 4 different criminal charges against him since 2001 - and he is currently only 23 years old! If anyone deserves to be given a Life Sentence WITHOUT parole, it is this POS!(piece of sh*t) IMO, he is nothing more than a piece of garbage that should have been destroyed the minute he was conceived!

Hello Thelma. You are so right and that is kind of the same sentiments I was getting to during our discussion concerning the sentence of the scumbag and his family who attacked another Officer. Some on this earth have no purpose in living and some should spend the reminding of their lives locked up behind bars as long as we can keep them there.

[H]e is nothing more than a piece of garbage that should have been destroyed the minute he was conceived! So. You're for infanticide? I mean. Hindsight is 20/20, but if we're going to be killing infants based on their genetic predisposition as opposed to their past crimes, what makes us any different than the society described in Gattaca? Does that eradicate criminal behavior from society? Or does society become the evil we sought to eradicate? I'm all about ridding the world of evil. But one should be given a chance to prove his worth BEFORE we sentence him to death.

All agreed upon. We're really only talking about the people who have lengthly criminal records as the scumbag who killed Officer Lindsey. People that don't value life, either their own or others.

Well I guess I will get the other side of me going. You are wrong. He has not been proven guilty and until that time he is an innocent man being held against his will in jail. I think all of us would ask for the same treatment under our great USA laws.

So many innocents were killed as a result.

We are all free in this country to express our outrage and opinion. Concerned is right. We do not want to resurrect the Lynch mob mentality, but we also have to be allowed to vent our outrage, or it eats at our inner being.
Such a heinous crime makes objectivity difficult for the average citizen. I only hope that "justice will be served" and I put my faith in the democratic court system that we have relied for all the years the US has existed, to make a decision that is fair and just.
That is precisely why there are 12 on a jury. Two or three might all be in favor of killing this person without any debate, and two or three might believe him innocent, but with 12 folks deliberating, a fair and equitable solution and consensus is more likely to be reached.

As a Mom who gave birth to 5 children, currently has 9 grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren with another one on the way - I am definitely NOT in favor of "killing infants based on their genetic predisposition" You should know me well enough by now, Swimmy, to know this about me. I am still outraged over the cowardly way Officer Lindsey was killed in the prime of his life. I also have faith in UPD's capability and belief they have arrested the right man who killed Officer Lindsey. Perhaps, I made the statement that I did that this POS should have been tdisposed of at the moment of his conception based on my outrage over what this POS has done with his life since 2001. If I upset you or anyone else on this Board, please accept my apology. I will remember to hold my anger and disgust of these criminals until after they have had their day in Court and the Jury has rendered their Verdict Afterall, even scumbags have their rights under our Constitution.

How does someone value life if they are brought up with the belief that life is meaningless. It's a copout attitude. Life in the womb means nothing, having a wife for eternity means nothing. It is all about having fun in life and the hell with anybody else. I know drug addicts and alcholics who could give a shit about life; just give them there momentary escape from reality. Tell them life is a value. lol Get with the program. Time for rehab. Hell I need a homeboy.

Concerned - I was picked and served on a Criminal Jury (2nd Degree Murder) in the past and I find offense to your thinking about the type of people that serve on Juries in Oneida County.
First of all, this Trial will be held in Oneida County Supreme Court - NOT "City Court".
Second - the other members that were chosen for the same Jury I served on included many highly professional business people (accountants, business owners, etc) plus a couple of retired Federal and State employees. There wasn't one member of the Jury that I would have considered with an IQ of below 120.
In fact, we were so intelligent that we only convicted the defendant of Manslaughter and NOT with 2nd Degree Murder!!!!
If and when this case finally goes to Trial, and the Jury does reach a Verdict, I will have the utmost confidence in their decision - based upon the evidence brought out during the Trial.

Just a small correction, the trial will be held in Oneida County Court. The Supreme Court is a level above the county court.

I believe he should have a fair trial. Then when the guilty bastage is proven guilty, eliminate him. The only down side is he will know and see it coming unlike Tom. These scum DO NOT deserve a prison sentence where they and visit their families, smoke, get drugs, and live out their days while we pay for it. I know too much about this case to have anything but contempt for this scum. He should rot in hell!! I better quit before I get going to bad.

It is nice to know someone else feels the same way as I do about this POS............. How many other Police Officers have to get killed before NYS reinstates the Death Penalty for the killing of anyone in Law Enforcement?

We're going to trust the same government that can't balance a budget or pass one on time the awesome responsibility of taking another human's life?
I shudder.
