Wow, talk about your life going down the crapper! From a successful lawyer to stealing food from Hannaford's. This poor SOB has really hit the skids. Couple that with being in cahoots with Hendricks and you have a life so pitiful that it brings a tear to your eye. NOT

I just picture a big bed & all the players in this debacle are in it together.

Well, looks like he successfully transitioned from being a glorified crook (politician in oneida county) to a "slumbag" crook. lol

Sounds kinky to me Stoney. Maybe they want to borrow your whip to make things more exciting in that big ole bed, haha.

They've all had run-ins with the law at one time or another. Actually, this guy is innocent until proven guilty. I just hope he's not really broke & needed the food.

I would hope so too. Even so, there are places to get food without stealing, unless you are trying to keep up a lifestyle that you can no longer afford. When a lawyer loses his license for misconduct, I don't feel too sorry for their fall from the upper crust. A crooked lawyer is a pimple on the ass of the legal profession. Maybe he needs to see the error in his ways and get on with life. An HONEST life. Maybe as a law clerk for an attorney that values their license enough to be honest and legitimate.

He was disbarred for misappropriating clients' funds? Anybody have any details?

I don't know the details but I do know this. People don't hire and attorney unless they need one, and if the attorney doesn't do what he is hired to do, then the client is going to take a screwing in court as well as taking a screwing for paying an incompetent lawyer.
Helene Hamlin was another despicable douchebag that took money from an old man that trusted her. I think that she should have been sent away, but she managed to blame it all on her accomplice.

Yes, he was disbarred for several things. As for run-ins with the law; I've never been convicted of a single crime or even violation in my life. The only times I've even faced the law has been when politicians wanted to try abusing OUR government and their power to try shutting me up. Guess what? It has never worked because I have done nothing wrong. I don't do anything even close to shady. I simply live and speak my mind.
As for Barry, this is Karma. He was the mastermind all along. But this entire thing is just getting more and more weird. And to think, people say I'm the one that's messed up. Wow. Only in Oneida County. Stoney, maybe I'll move to Herkimer County. LOL

Cows are more intelligent than most of our political leaders in Oneida County.

A few years ago on occassion, I would run into Barry in a local watering hole. I won't say where. I always found him to be a total gentleman, & a down to earth guy. Barry may have come from the upper crust, but you'd never know it from talking to him, as he wasen't pretentious or a snob. I think it's a tragic situation to be in, as Bob had it all. Me, I feel bad for the guy. I think I know what happened to him & it's a damn shame. "Karma"? I don't think so. Hopefully, Barry can get his act together & become a productive member of society again. The guy needs help & support. Nobody's perfect, & we all make mistakes.

I don't know any of the players, but I think you nailed it, Kracker, in hoping the guy gets help. He does appear to be in need of it. It must be difficult for an attorney to admit he's wrong (to himself) and ask for help. Let's hope he does.
I have an acquaintance here locally who is now disbarred and had lost his ability to earn a living, until he found work behind the counter of a hardware store. He's on a long road back to a normal life, and he has probably tens of thousands of dollars to pay back. But he intends to do it and has already begun. For him, it was sex, drugs and rock & roll. With a more than liberal sprinkling of C2H5OH.

You are correct in your sympathy for the man Dave, and I am mistaken in my condemnation. I, above some others, should have an understanding and should see the symptoms that point to a possible problem with alcohol or other substance issues. I retract my judgmental statements.
I too hope that if he has a problem, that he is able to find help and is able to put his life back together. I personally was given a second chance after and alcohol treatment program and succeeded, and I have known a lot of people that started over and have built a new life.
When I worked at the OD we had a circulation customer service rep, answering phones for little more than minimum, and he was a OB/GYN that had lost his license for drug abuse.
I can't retract my opinion that it was despicable to take peoples money for legal representation and not provide the services. That is fraud or theft any way you look at it. An alcohol problem may EXPLAIN the incidents but it doesn't EXCUSE them or make it up to the clients that were wronged.
