I learned that lesson many years ago Wcup. Been there and done that, haha. Heck, the bread was always so fresh and tasty that I didn't care if it had butter or not. I HAVE brought my own butter in there in a small margarine bowl, and I have also had their bread dipped in olive oil.
I don't like lamb, but my Dad used to go there years ago on a special day when they served all their baked meat specialties that had been cooked in the cellar. I never paid attention to those specials or the days they were served, but I guess there were several special days with special meats and dishes on the menu. I was always a sausage, hot and sweet peppers, or lasagna customer.
I may be a little older than some, but I remember getting soda that was poured from 1 quart glass bottles kept in cases under the bar. No fountain soda. That was back in the 60's.
