I have a few family members and friends that live in Utica my friend in Utica said that he is afraid to sign the petition. He agrees with everything and is afraid to sign the petition. How sad, I told him to stop being a pansy and just sign it. Start standing up for things that you believe in.

Thank you Lucy. What is he afraid of? These clowns? Nobody can touch him. He has much support.
You're dead on, Utica AND Oneida County can not recover until people stand up for themselves and their beliefs. I LIVE my values and what I teach my boys. How can I encourage others to do so without doing so myself?
AND it's a beautiful thing not to fear, not to be repressed. Sign the petition and hold your head up high! Be proud to take back what belongs to you anyway!

I can understand your friend's concern. But if they try any retribution for his signing the petition, they would be committing political suicide. And the courts would eat 'em up.

Absolutely Swimmy. We have a legal team in place and should there be ANY form or attempt retribution it WILL be dealt with. I think what concerns some folks is that some of this administrations friends will still hold office and that will be true for a time.
The current political structure in Oneida County and Utica is REALLY broken and we're going to finish the job. There are good, ambitious folks who ARE fighting the battle and more join all the time. People REALLY are tired. Unlike the current "guard", the "new guard" has solutions and ideas as well as energy to get them done.

Rodwilson will they be going house to house for petitions? They will. Additionally, if you can't get out or have concerns, we'll bring a petition to you or your group. Just email the site with your info or get it to me. www.recalluticamayorroefaro.us/

Wow. I'm not a Utican, but I've lived in Oneida County long enough to enjoy keeping an eye on the local news (distracts me from thinking evil thoughts about the AF personnel office that stuck me here). Anyway, this guy Rofaero must be really something - I mean, I keep hearing voices raised in praise for Tim Julian......just a few short months ago wasn't Julian the worst thing to ever, ever and I do mean EVER! happen to Utica?
It's amusing - and predictable! - to watch the antics to discard these petitions. What'll be next; can't use this one because the names aren't centered on the lines? Can't use this one because there's an "R" surname on the fifth line? Blue ink instead of black ink?
And in case that should ever get boring, there's that comedy show going on over in Albany. OY!

The antics of Team Roefaro are very amazing. My parents live in Utica, so even though I don't live there anymore I still have an interest and concern as to what goes on there.
I have always been a supporter of Tim Julian and thought he did a great job as Mayor.
I never did understand why people were so down on former Police Chief Pylman. So what that he lived in New Hartford? He conducted himself professionally. He was a career law enforcement officer, and I will never forget all the time, effort and concern he put in with the Sara Ann Wood case.

Here's an update from the organizational front. Line from an email I got this afternoon;
"Hitting door to door, we have been getting emails left and right with addresses. Some are full streets that want to sign."

I, too, have always been a Julian supporter. I predicted that roefie was bad news and that labella would become chief.
I love the comment that crime went down under labella's watch. First, it's part of a national trend that began 6 years ago. If labella wants to take credit, he needs to give due credit to his predecessor, Chief Pylman because that's when the trend began.

OH NO! It's worse than we thought!
"...coke-sniffing, staff-banging governor." Sen. Kevin Parker
I am so getting a t-shirt with that on it.
ALL the way to top baby!

These guys are dirt bags from Dirtbag Central, Brooklyn. Elected by a dopey populace of takers, for the most part. What can you expect? Please don't call them MY state leadership, no matter how they bully their way to the top. This State is already lost. What a bunch of losers we are governed by.

Thanks to all of you for understanding my position here. Lionel, it does seem you are singling me out among the MANY elected officials in Oneida County. But I understand also that I have put myself in that position by being very outspoken on issues. I have also made the decision to engage on public forums because I think it's important to be open to the people that pay me and are my bosses. With that said, I will give you as much straight talk as I can. You probably still won't be satisfied, but I'll try.
When the news first hit about the county exam, I was the first one to visit the personel office to request all of the documents and information. It was what it was, which has all been reported on. As a public official, I can't make any claims, without proof, like a citizen can. That is how you get hit with a lawsuit. I understand the concerns of the public and respect their right to petition their government for a redress of grievances. They have every right to do what they're doing and I would never discourage that.
I have worked with LaBella in the Legislature and while he was PSC. I believe he did a fine job as PSC and as a legislator. The Mayor made his appointment and I'm willing to give LaBella a chance. As for any other city issues; when they effect the people of the 25th district AND i have a say on them, I have always been willing to speak out on them. I will continue to do that. However, I will not take my eye off my goal of reforming county government and making positive changes. I ran for office to be part of the solution, not the problem. And trust me, not a single person has "pressured" me or even talked to me about this. If there's one thing you can be sure of, even if you don't agree with me, it's that I definitely make up my own mind on issues. Furthermore, a recall, even if some feel it is justified, will drastically hurt the city's financial standing. Google other cities that have recalled their mayor and you will see that their bond rating immediately took a dive. I also have to stay consistant. I was against the recall provision when it was proposed by the Democrats (my own party) a few years ago. I didn't feel then that it was Constitutional in NYS. I still don't.
Sorry if that answer wasn't what you wanted to hear, but it is all I have. I will continue to focus on the issues and my goals for county government.
