I don't lump all Democrats in together Larry. Your embracing the internet has opened you up to easy communication which breeds trust and you seem to keep a careful and measured tone without coming off as the usual fence-sitter politician. I wonder what the eventual fallout of the public backlash is going to be?
It makes me angry to hear that Ford and Barry's statement has resulted in people hiding behind their doors now. There didn't really look like they are genuine and they pretty much singled out the recall folks. LT doesn't have to respond I'm not looking to get him involved on that but it really does look pretty clear to me. It's scary when the nutzos turn out to be right there is some real backstabbing going on in mova politics.

The thing to remember here is that the Recall Petitioners didn't start this fire. They weren't going door to door. Team Roefaro put that bug into the people's ear, and used Utica's Bosnian population in the process. Team Roefaro has had the option since Day One of being truthful, but in their arrogance have chose not to. Instead, they throw a couple lies and innuendos out there to deflect from the dirty deeds going on at City Hall.
Any politician (not just Larry, not just any politician running for re-election this fall), should know right from wrong and speak up. So far it hasn't happened, which always makes me wonder if it is true that politicians are solely looking out for their best interests and success of their next re-election campaign instead of what's best for the people they serve.
Any politician who can say with a straight face that they think Labella will be a better police chief than the two deputy chiefs with loads more experience and scoring higher on the promotional exam, makes me wonder where their priorities are.

Great points Denise, thank you. If they put half the work into their jobs that they do to discredit the RECALL, this would be the best damn city on the planet. We did NOT start this and have been nothing but courteous and professional about this process. No where have you seen ANYONE sling mud, call names. We have simply stated that case for a vote of no confidence. We've learned of more accusations and improprieties that do fall into the personally realm so we have avoided these. Our campaign is to bring to light the self serving and mismanagement of the "people's business" and the taxpayers money. I'm off to a ceremony to kick off the new Officer Thomas Lindsey Youth Baseball league at noon. Not sure if the Mayor is coming or not. They as the county are involved. Should be interesting. My position is that I am there for baseball and the kids. I will not discuss the recall action. But I will NOT shake his hand. This is about the kids and baseball. Any attempt to detract from that or to attack me would be a GRAVE mistake. Additionally, BECAUSE of the history of attacks, I don't feel comfortable bringing my family to this event. How WRONG is that.

Couldn't you just, you know, have them read it? Or were these the easily confused/suffer from a language barrier voters Mr. Ford is worried about? Actually, Gear, that I am upset about (not you, the press conference). That press conference did us all more harm than good. It was ill conceived and looked terrible. All it did was hurt all of the candidates (Dem and Rep) gathering petitions for their own races. It basically sent a message that intimidated people, and that is totally unexceptable. Trust me, I had it out with our Chairman over that. Like I said before, anyone has a right to gather petitions, and NO ONE should attempt to bully them or intimidate them. I do know that it wasn't the Mayor's idea. Now they have everyone nervous about signing anything. It MIGHT have something to do with alleged interference from City Hall or other likewise interested parties. We have CLEARLY seen what this admin is willing to do to thwart our efforts. We've had people call with a variety of suggestions of foul play including having been approached with BLANK paper and been asked to sign.

I just spoke to the Newell party and I have been assured that the recall IS STILL moving forward. There was a change in web hosting and the new web host has run into an issue or two.
Petitions are still being circulated and signed. There are plans for highly visible rallies in the works. Keep checking the site.

The RECALL site is back up.
Man, it must have been so much easier back in the day when they just dragged 'em through town tied to the back of a horse.

Well, there are several arguments for due process. They're easier to see when I'm the one being dragged through town.
Unfortunately, regarding the Recall, it seems to have a lot of legal problems attached to it and will probably make a lot of lawyers a lot of money before it actually gets rid of anyone, if ever. But the message will be clear.

Oh no! Not another thread lost. I can't read any of the succeeding 12 pages. And there were some great posts! Ok Ralph, admit it! You deleted it because you support roefaro! lol just kidding. I'm sure it's another server error.
EDIT: Ok, never mind! After I posted this, the other 11 pages showed up. Weird! My computer hates me, I guess.
