Larry is the thread author. But even he tried to quell the hostility. And it finally quelled until rod re-ignited the situation. Then after bobbbiez, he finally calmed down his tone and we had some decent posts.
I just hope Concerned doesn't delete this thread. :/

hmmm. Interesting. The security log that shows all transactions on the board, shows several places where posts to the thread had been modified by the writers, but it doesn't show it being deleted. This is a mystery for Ralph to unravel with his technical expertise.

Earlier yesterday, I had trouble accessing clipper boards overall. I kept getting a "data server error. unable to connect to data server." Perhaps the thread's disappearance is just another glitch from the data server and it got deleted when proboards corrected the initial data server error.

I suppose that is possible Swimmy, though I really have no clue. I have never seen the entire body of a thread simple vanish before. As Clipper pointed out, anything and everything that is done on the board in reference to threads posted and other admin functions shows up on our security log. If it is not in there, then I really don't have a clue where the hell it went!

I sincerely doubt Larry would delete the thread. So I am thinking that it has to be part of that data server error and corrupted data.

I didn't think one could delete an entire thread by deleting their initial post. I just tried it and verified it. I deleted my initial post in "Let's Play Pretend Impeachment" (page 8 of national news threads) and it was deleted, but not the thread.

Any author that posts a post can go back and delete their own posts but not the threads itself. I think only the administrators have the rights to delete or move around a thread or post. The posters must be logged in to the forum though to be able to delete or modify but for a whole thread to disappear and the administrator didn't change it then it must be a problem with the server.

Well, that is what I am chalking it up to at the moment as I have gone through the Security Log myself and can't find a thing. I have been working with Pro-Boards systems for about 5 years now and this is not the first time I have seen it happen, though it was only once before.
There was also an account awaiting approval at the same time. I could have sworn I approved it, but we can't find it and there is no record of it at the time either.
So for clarification I am going to removed that particular thread rather than leave it there with it going "nowhere" so to speak.

Why would I want to delete this thread? I really enjoy the arguments. Oh well back to Prison Break.

I wasn't aware of that. I figured that if you deleted the post creating the thread, it would delete the thread. In any case, I only suggested it because that and the server error were the only two explanations I could come up with. And given the fact that I highly doubt Larry would delete a thread, I figure it had to be that server error.
