I don't know if anyone will see this but I'm gonna do it anyway. It was my mother and father who ran the store on the corner of Kossuth and Eagle. This was around 1953-54. All the teenaged boys used to hand out there. Some of the names of people who hung around/lived around us were Marchitelli, Migliacchio, Mesa, Zane, Camerotta, Citrinitti, Yozzo, Zogby, Femia, Walters. I was 8 or 9......went to Conkling School. Such great memories. Oh, and yes, it is now Jo-Mar beauty salon.

Hi Mary, I remember some of those names and many are still around this area. The Zogby you mentioned is probably my son's father-in-law, Joe, who hung out with the Femias and are still very good friends today.

Yeah, I remember Rock Femia, Jimmy Flemma and I'm sure the people you know are probably related to the ones I knew. Those were the good old days. We used to walk to school without our parents worrying about someone stealing us, used to play outside in the summer till dark and try to catch lightening bugs, etc. I love to reminisce.

Hey Mary, you found the right place if you love to reminisce. ;D Most here on the forum offer some great memories on many topics. You'll feel right at home and your input will be welcomed. Don't be afraid to jump in any time.

Hey, if that's the case and he does, I want some royalties for my sharing.

Hell, don't worry about me writing a book Mary. Nobody would pay for my hard headed and obsessive opinions, ramblings and musings, LOL.

Uh, what makes you think that there would be any royalties due Sunshine? Hell, I might write a book and not include you in it. I may research and write about he sex life of the West Indian fruit fly, or some other deep and scientific topic. I AM quite intellectual you know,. Unfortunately, many of my younger days were spent researching the ways to drink a quart of Christian Brothers and a 12 pack without throwing up! Gee, either one of us could probably write an interesting autobiography with all the adventures and misadventures we have lived through. LOL

Why buy the book when I can read it on-line? Just kidding, Clipper.
Every so often, we drive by my old neighborhood and I try to remember things. I do remember playing hopscotch, girls are....., and with my dolls in front of the store. God, those were such innocent times! I also remember our backyard as being HUGE!! I must have grown because it's tiny now. Maybe it shrunk?

You are right Mary, for all the interest anyone would have in MY autobiography, I will just let it trickle out on line, a few stories at a time. The book would probably cost $15 a copy to produce, but the content would only be worth $5. Not a real "trail blazer" in the literary world, haha.

Good one, Mary! I exalt you!
Whenever one of us wants to read another chapter of Clipper's life, we just have to pick an argument with him here. It's always good for another 3 or 4 thousand words.
