China is also experiencing inflation which will have an impact on US prices as those prices begin to rise.

They're saying the baby formula shortage may take a year to resolve.

the pandemic and supply chain issues have left many manufacturers short of necessary ingredients and resources needed to produce their products. The recall didn't help the formula situation.

The plant which was the subject of the recall is still shut down. I don't understand how it got so out of control, can't blame any one party or governmental layer. It needs to be a top to bottom commitment.

I was just watching Face the Nation and Meet the Press as I always do on Sunday morning, and they discussed the formula shortage. They said that the government is working with Abbot to get the plant up to snuff and safely reopen it. Even when that plant comes back on-line, the game of catch-up is not going to be a short term thing.

Prices continues to climb dailer here, putting the average price for regular at $4.29. Last night the on the news they said to expect another fairly large jump in price as the producers shift to the "summer blend" gasoline, and that the jump because of summer blend will effect prices until fall. The increased cost of producing the summer gas may be a legitimate factor, but I also am reasonably sure that producers and vendors also use it as an excuse to gouge the public during the peak travel season when people are vacationing.
Some might say that they have us by the throats. I think that they have us by the gonads rather than the throat and every day they squeeze a bit harder.

And here I thought that one of the reasons for The Big Gouge was the shift to summer blend & they haven't even done it yet? Wow. Gas here has gone up $.25 in the past week & you'll be lucky to find it for less then $4.89 anywhere in O.C. Gas usage is down which should trigger a price drop but that's not happening because they're robbing us blind & nobody can convince me that they're not. There ain't no shortage of it.

Tucker Carlson has a great show tonight be prepared. Is Carlson going to shoot his mouth off again about white replacement theory? He's the biggest racist on cable news. A real Prince.

It is still staying below $4.30 I last filled for $4.29 here. Thank goodness I got rid of the V-8 truck. I fill the little Equinox whenever it gets below 3/4 when I can and even then it costs me about15 or 18 bucks. When I filled yesterday $18 bought 4.1 gallons. The last time I filled the truck the gas gauge was a little over 1/2 tank and it took $45 worth.
I imagine that those of you who drive smaller cars are not terribly surprised with the mileage you are getting, but having driven a V-8 truck for many years I am thrilled when I see my average mileage hanging anywhere from 28-34mpg. the truck got 14-16mpg on average and only about 18 or so on a long trip.
We stayed home for the weekend. Friends took their pontoon boat out for the day on Sunday. They were on the lake for 4 hours and burned 70+ dollars worth of gas plus whatever the gas cost for the truck to drag the boat to the lake and back.
I paid almost 10 bucks for gas for the lawn mowers. It is a 3 gallon can and I never fill it all the way so I can pour it more easily without spilling.

I have to mow tomorrow & I'll have to fill my 2 gallon can. I never fill it all the way either to avoid a spill even though I never fill anything that burns gas in my garage in case of a spill & possible fire. The garage is attached & if it goes so does the house.
I have to gas the truck also so it's a double whammy for me.
We went to Sylvan Beach Saturday to spend a couple days at a friend's camp & gas at Fastrac in Rome was $.08/ gallon cheaper then Fastrac in Marcy.
Thanks a lot, Fastrac.

I wonder what people owning boats will be doing this summer. Especially those who own these huge boats I saw one of them Saturday on the Mohawk River. I see that one a lot. I think that may belong to a retired Monsignor I knew but if I remember he keeps it a at Bonnie Castle near the St Lawrence Rive since he can also go into the ocean and come down the coast! I think that is the place
