www.wktv.com/news/local/18059984.htmlHey it's about time! ;D This is a program that Dan LaBella was trying to implement when he was running for Oneida County Sheriff. This is a common problem with sex offenders, they are not at the residence they have on file and the Police do not have the resources to find them. When found they should go directly back to Prison. We had one of these filthy animals in the Mills. But get this he lived across the street from the Park. Well the Police was aware of him and thankfully he does not live there any more. I understand they have to live somewhere but not near a park, school, candy store etc. We are the only protection for the future of our kids and we need to meet that obligation at any cost.

My opinion, when talking about the worst of them......just take them out and shoot them,
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!!!!
But this is a good thing. I know they have been wanting to get a handle on this for some time and now this may give them chance to get caught up.

Yeah Todd, don't understand why he was allowed to live near the park. They can't even live near a private day-care home along with others you mentioned, plus more without permission. Someone was not doing their job keeping track of him for sure. Most who do get released now are on parole which will probably last most of their life time, so where was his parole officer?

It still amazes me and their was a Catholic School across the street too. We passed out fliers with a pic, address and type of vehicle he drove. We had a great Police Dept that kept close tabs on him and our children.
The new building up at Mid-State will house these guys long after their Prison sentence. This maybe a good thing.

They're been housed at Mid-state for quite awhile now. The new addition will just enable them to house more and more efficiently, but sooner or later they will be released into the public. That's when it becomes crucial for others in authority to do their jobs and do it well.

We had a case over here in North Utica where public concern drove the sex offender out of the area.
A private citizen was searching the Web for tax information on various houses in a North Utica area that he was interested in buying. Somehow, he came across information re. one house that was owned by a single female - which lead to other Websites that listed how this same female homeowner had married a convicted Sex Offender that was scheduled to be released from Prison soon and move into this female's home - WHICH WAS LOCATED RIGHT ACROSS FROM AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!!!!!
This sex offender had committed a violent rape of a young girl and made her boyfriend watch - after which the boyfriend was severely beaten.
This private citizen printed all of this informaiton on a flyer and placed it in mailboxes of various people that lived in North Utica. I happened to see this flyer at work in New Hartford where someone referred it to me knowing I also lived in North Utica.
Many of the neighbors voiced their "concerns" to this female homeowner who had married this creep. Rather than live surrounded by such hostality of her neighbors, she put her house up for sale and moved out of the area.
IMO - the public should be made aware of exactly where each Sex Offender lives and the details of the crimes he committed. I have found various Websites that list known sex offenders that live over here even in North Utica. I've printed out their "Mug Shots" and last known address, and details of their crimes and made sure ALL three of my grandaughters were familiar with their faces. They were told that if they ever saw any of these sex offenders to seek out help, or call 911 on their cell phones and to make sure they stayed far - far away from them.

Well their in all the Prisons. But this new building will keep them after their sentence is complete if they are deemed not to be rehabilitated or have a violent crime. Which will be mandated by the courts.

Todd, they have been housed in the building for the criminally insane at Mid-State for over a year now. If I'm not mistaken they're on two floors at present. The guys there have already completed their sentences and are being held by the State. My girlfriend who has been a charge nurse for 19 yrs. now at the State transfered to that building from Pinefield two years ago when they opened that new division and one of my sons works in the same building. The new building will be able to hold more of them and will be a better equipped facility. From what I understand, they are still going to house some still where they are now and the new building.

If my taxes were to go up to get rid of these creeps I don't care how much I'm paying, I don't want any of them near my child. Did you see yesterday's WKTV how the sex offender is only getting 3 1/2 years! It makes me sick! Dateline should come to Oneida County I'm sure they would pick up a lot of those scumbags.

If anyone has to watch "reality TV", Stone Phillips and the program that catches pervs in action is the greatest. It is REAL entertainment to see the perverted bastards slapped in cuffs, or to see them crying real tears because their professional or married life is "over".

Saved one state some money, and most likely MANY youngsters some perverted sexual trauma. If one is looking for sympathy for these pervs, they will find sympathy located somewhere between "shit" and "syphilis" in Webster's Dictionary. About a year ago, the Johnson City, Tn. police department did a sting operation in a city park. There was a thicket of bushes and trees, with a hollowed out little clearing in the middle of it. It was just off of one of the walking and jogging trails. Joggers and others complained about unwanted homosexual advances and of being accosted by men trying to proposition them for sex in the thicket, which became known as the "man cave". 30 something offenders were arrested for soliciting sex from a police officer. Among those arrested were a couple of ministers and other "pillars of the community". One particular individual was a school teacher, and he committed suicide in jail. Would you want this person giving your son "extra individual" help after school hours? People with that sort of attraction to children, need serious psychiatric help, "BEFORE" they offend, and those that offend, need to pay the price for their indescretions. Gays are welcome to their own lifestyle. Just keep your sex lives out of the park. If ya prefer an anus to a vagina, fine. Take your anal buddy HOME, not to the jogging trails. We don't mind it if bears SHIT in the woods, but we object to pervs that SPIT in the woods. We also had a recent incident of a couple of pervs, a man and a wife, that lured underaged girls to their home to partake in few beers and a joint, then slipped them ecstacy and filmed kiddy porn performed by these young stoned kids and the couple. They found several hours of tapes of these acts. If this couple commits suicide, it will be nothing but a savings for the people of sullivan county Tn. No batter way to track sex offenders than to have a deputy check the cemetery monthly to make sure they are still there!!

bobbbiez,
We have only 1 or 2 pedophiles currently at Mid-State in the SOP program which are being held longer than their sentence. It is on one floor. The Marcy Psychiatric building for the criminally insane, which is out front maybe housing more, that is where your girlfriend and son is probably working. Mid-State has no criminally insane inmates at the Prison.
The new building is still currently empty until construction is complete. Projected cost for this building is $33 million. It is supposed to hold all the pedophiles that are being held in custody after their sentence is completed. To the best of my knowledge there is not going to be any criminally insane inmates housed there.
There is some conflict of who will be running it, rather it is Marcy Psychiatric Center or Dept of Corrections. The Psychiatric Center is projected to run it right now, but they don't want it. The law is also written right now that pedophiles which are being held longer than their sentence, have to be in a Correctional Facility which Marcy Psychiatric Center is not.
This is a new process and law so it continues to change everyday. In the end it should be good to have allot of the filthy animals off our streets and away from our children.

Todd, slight miscommunication. When I said Mid-state I didn't mean the prison "building" itself. I meant the Central N.Y. Psychiatric Center right there on Mid-State grounds. Different buildings run by different divisions in the State but basically doing the same work. Two units at the Phscy. building. One is the forensic side which holds the criminally insane or politically speaking, inmates with more mental deficiencies, such as in pedophilia, schizophrenics, and etc.,etc., which all are inmates. This side is where my girlfriend is charge nurse. The other side holds the "not mentally disturbed pedophiles inmates being hold after their sentences have been served. This is the side where one of my sons works. In total both sides holds approximately 200 inmates and has been opened for about two years now. The new building will hold all of these and more eventually and from what I understand at present the Phsyc. Division will still run it. Sorry for confusing you. We all have to remember one thing. Problem is not solved by what Todd and I are discussing here. These inmates "Will" be eventually released into our community and then it will be up to those in the right departments to continue to monitor these inmates now being held. That's where the problem really lies.
