Anyone know why ed won't answer a simple question? I know it doesn't make or break his point, but I wouldn't think he'd have such a difficult time answering a simple and innocent question.

Swimmy, Are you really looking for an answer? I think not, but this really made me laugh to see this after coming from that other forum. ;D Ed very rarely answers any question that are thrown at him. It doesn't take a big poster as yourself to figure that one out.

I finally had to post my own comment as well.
I was trying to figure just what she was supposed to do down there while it was raining cats & dogs. Bail them out with a dixie cup? Mutter meaningless condolences?
I hate it when people think that their respective council people are Gods in their own right and they get disappointed when they find out they are just as human as the rest of us.
Whether she was or not, I would have stayed inside and watched TV as well!!!

No, I am looking for an answer. The man prides himself on knowing facts. I want to know what facts for the basis of his conclusion that she was watching tv.
I know he doesn't answer questions. That's the frustrating part.

His last thread about the flooding on Royal Brook was really over the top. I asked if she brought the flooding with her or if it was a long standing issue in the area. I don't know why, but my comments were removed. I don't believe I said anything inflammatory.

Yeah I posted there about this also. He seems quick to point fingers but never yield an answer or solution. Typical politico answers, sidestepping the questions. I said it over there and I say it over here. This time of year, lots of flooding occurs. Why? Easy, ice build up. We get a nice warm spell that melts what is on the surface, but yet the ground is still frozen, so where does the water go? It floods and goes where ever it can. I have read about the flooding and drainage issues in that area he's tallking about, but this time it has nothing to do with whatever faults he believes is there. And yet because I have an explaination to what probably is the issue in this instance and it doesn't jive with his, I am unsympathetic to fellow man. Yeah right. I live on flat ground, nowhere near a flood zone and I get water in my basement this time of year. Maybe I should sue the Village of Herkimer? He needs to get a grip and get a clue and take a science class.
Oh and like Ralph said, was she supposed to do about it? And how does he know she didn't do anything about it, or tried to do anything about it? I mean, I know there are a lot of questionable things going on in NH, but Ed seems to border on becoming the next David Koresh or something. I couldn't help but post that I thought I saw Krupa on Saturday with an ice pick trying to clear drains.

The sad part is that ewiatr is his own worst enemy. How many times have we seen him use unsubstantiated hyperbole to either strengthen his case or just to spark interest while pointing out what is probably a valid public concern? And in every case, someone calls him on it and the topic goes off on a he said/she said digression.
If, when swimmy asked about the TV, he could have simply posted -- "I don't know where she really was, I just made that part up. I only know she wasn't on the scene with her neighbors and constituents." -- the discussion would have turned to what really caused the flooding and how best to correct the situation.
But NNOOOOooooooooooooooo ....

Forggy, I liked your post. With all the rain that we had that day and night, even my neighborhood experienced flooding and we're on top of a hill!
Things would be so much easier if he stopped acting all high and mighty. It was a simple question and I got slammed for it.

Thanks swimmy. I'm not trying to sidestep his issue, because flooding and drainage problems have been highlighted there in the past. But, what he's using is the force of nature to make his case, which has nothing to do with his case. Plain and simple.
This time of year, many people experience water intrusion from their roof. More often than not, what has happened is commonly referred to as an ice dam. The ice forms on the eaves of the roof. Behind it, the heat escaping from the house melts it and because the ice surrounds this water, it has nowhere else to go but to back up into the house. The same things happen this time of year with the ground. Everything on the surface melts and turns into water. Obviously since the underlying ground is still frozen solid, where is it going to go? Anywhere it can. I mean what grade level science class are we talking about here? Mr. Ed is starting to sound like a real tool, if you know what I mean.

No, I know exactly what you mean. And I was just agreeing with you that the flooding was more a result of the melting ice and heavy rainfall. I am aware of the actual situation facing those residents.

I didn't realize that I did all that by asking a simple and innocent question. That's rather impressive. Its no use. Perhaps as he beats his chest, bragging about the 40 years treading Mud creek, there must have been PCB's that entered his bloodstream. The guy is truly lost. I was looking at the weather record for the weekend. Between Friday evening and Saturday, close to 2 inches of rain fell. Rain melts snow, and becomes more water. Since the ground is frozen underneath, making it less porous, the water pools and floods. Somehow Mr. Ed can't get it thru his skull. Its a weather and geological event that occurs this time every year. Ahh, but maybe the corrupt town officials and the developers who they bed with pushed all the snow in the entire village into Mud creek to make it flood. Ah, yes, the conspiracy. And because Christine Krupa is part of it, she must be hiding the payouts to the dump truck drivers who spent the overnight doing snow relocating.

That has to be the answer. No wonder she was sitting at home watching television. lol
The sin is, as you mentioned, the residents still suffer.

I am not defending Ed, only the residents of Royal Brook Lane. This creek floods when ever we get a heavy rainfall, even in the summer. Krupa made this problem a major part of her campaign and has done nothing to resolve the issue, not even as little as revisiting the residents. I post these pics for everybody to see. This was our back yards in the middle of the summer. No snow or ice to blame. www.nhconcernedcitizens.com/graphics/muddcreekpict.htmYou decide if this is the back yard you would want or better yet how much would you pay for this property.

Pretty bad Todd. Kathy has a cousin that lived on Royal Brook Lane, but down near the end by Nice and Easy, and on the other side of the street. My God, your yard looks like a rice paddy. I hope ya had the supergrill on high ground! Kathy has an Uncle that lives in Mohawk that goes through the same thing every time there is flooding. His yard has half washed away, and his cellar gets wet every spring. I feel for ya my friend. I hope that they find a solution. All that commercial developement just added more to the local drainage issues, and I imagine what used to flow naturally in different directions, most likely now enters the creek from a large drain pipe that concentrates it all and dumps it upstream of your location. Water doesn't soak into a blacktop parking lot like it used to soak into the fields where Walmart sits now.
