Apparently a fight broke out in one of the local bars earlier this morning and it continued to the parking lot of the Denny's and Quality Inn at the South James St., and Erie Blvd. Two were stabbed to death and four others were injured as well.
I drove by the scene of the incident and it was still blocked off.
Hopefully the Rome Police will get the ones responsible.

All the better, OC. This thread could be about the crime. The other post was intended to be about the news coverage, even though, like most threads (and I'm the most guilty) they do stray a bit.

oc455, not to worry. Most of us walk around in the dark here anyways and are known to be a day late and a dollar short most of the time. ;D You'll fit right in with us.

Cool, I was ticked off today when WKTV reported their top story. The Heart Run & Walk, that occured today. After the weather report, they then reported the double homicide. Funny, America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk was top story? ! I don't know about you guys, but I could give a crap less about that, then what occurred in my backyard! Probably beer and testosterone at the Stockyards spilled out on to the streets.

Nothing new for them either. They must be taking lessons from the OD. I do agree that a double homicide should have taken priority over the heart walk and run. After all, there just might be someone out there who might have been a witness to the homicide and would see the news and offer their assistance to the police.

I was in the Stockyard just once with a friend that I worked at the base with. He had to see someone that was in there at the time. I agree with the testosterone thing, except that the day I was there the most obvious testosterone was a large lesbian barmaid. I sure as hell would have been afraid, very very afraid if she were mad at me. What she could not handle, I don't think anyone could. I think she had more testosterone pumpin than any of the men in the place, and more hair on her chest too! I should not make fun. She was a nice enough person, just very manly looking.

Yikes! At least the Rome Sentinal had it all over the front page. Unfortunately, I think their proof reader called in sick. I know the investigators in the case, good men. They will do a good job with it.

Sometimes it works out better when it's the last thing to be reported.
Nothing worse than having 100 or so looky-lou's crawling all over your crime scene.
You have to remember that WKTV only reports what they read in the OD anyways.

Heh, I usually am done "reading" the OD by the time my morning drive is over, listening to WIBX.

One of the two dead guys had been charged with attempted murder on two prior occasions. One of them ended up with a conviction of something else which netted 4 years in prison. Old habits die hard, no pun intended of course.
