The law mandates the exact opposite, so it cannot be hospital policy. And since the doctors are the one running the show, I doubt their innocence of this "practice."

If I recall correctly all three hospitals in the county plus Oneida Hospitals have their ER's staffed by doctors from an outside corporation. They are salaried employees of the staffing company and have no direct financial interest in patient payment.

Swimmy: and you didn't complain afterward? As in a letter to some state agency? I would have, for certain.

Beautiful Memorial Mass and tribute to a wonderful young man. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement and his community that he served in so many ways. God bless them all. RIP Deputy Kurt Wyman. You truly earned it.

Great gesture on YNN's part to televise Deputy Wyman's Memorial Mass for all to view.

That's why I usually give nurses more credit than doctors. There is a Facebook page BE KIND TO NURSES. We keep doctors from accidentally killing you. www.facebook.com/#!/pages/BE-KIND-TO-NURSES-We-keep-doctors-from-accidentally-killing-you/110173628999830 There might actually be some truth in that!

You truly earned it. I'll second that. I hope I get the chance to shake this guy's hand when I see him in heaven. I am still speechless. What a remarkable, faith led man. I went thru my bulk supply of tissue's.

This is what should be done By one who is skilled in goodness, And who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright, Straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited, Contented and easily satisfied. Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, Not proud and demanding in nature. Let them not do the slightest thing That the wise would later reprove.
- The Buddha's Words on Kindness (Metta Sutta)
I think that pretty much settles it.
