"I read from Dave's posts, Clipper's posts, Bobbbiez's posts, and Stoney's posts. Even on emotional issues (where I have a lot to learn), they are able to handle those situations in such a manner as to diffuse the tension, make their points, and still be chummy when all is said and done. "
Aw, thank you, Swimster! That was such a nice thing to say. I'll still be cracking my whip when needed, however... Thank God! I need a good whipping from you every so often. lol

Larry, it sounds like you have some big shoes to fill. I wish you the best of luck. No truer words were ever spoken. No offense to you Larry, but I'm still pi**ed at Jim for leaving W.Utica as councilman. Gonna take me and W.Utica a long time to get over it. Larry, I know you will try to do a good job for us "Westies" but the fact remains, it's like teaching a young dog the old dog's ways, and that takes time which W.Utica can not afford at this time. That's just the way it is and the truth. I wish you the best in your endeavors but I also give you the sign of the cross cause you are definitely gonna need it.

I understand, Bobbie. Trust me, I wouldn't be running if Jim were still there. I've worked closely with Jim for years and dealt with many of the same issues in Cornhill. When Jim asked me to run, I was honored to have his support. And I'm confidant that I'll hit the ground running, as I've been on the ground in Cornhill for the past few years and also worked with Jim when I was in West Utica. All I can say is that I look forward to earning your support. I think we have a good team together and it will only serve to help West Utica even more. On a strategical point... Remember, if Jim ran again, he would have one term left. After those two years, he would be termed out in 2013, and there would be no Council President race for him to go for. That would mean he's gone. This way, he stays on the council for at least another 4-8 years and gets the chance to support a successor that he can actually work with. Just a thought.

By the way, I "suspended" my FB account. Turns out you can't quit, I guess. So if anyone happens to miss me on the Friends list, I didn't de-friend you, I just disappeared. But I bet no one noticed, because I didn't use it much to communicate anyway.

So I just stated a totally different one. I had just broke-up with a girlfriend at the time and after being blasted with messages from her and her friends everyday, I needed to get a new account. I even changed my cell number. It was crazy.

And it sounds like Mr. Zecca has a lot to offer in the way of advice and political know-how. Take advantage.

Thanks, Swimmy. I've known Jim since we ran against each other in a 4-way primary in 2003 for the 2nd Ward. The first time I met him, I told my father I wanted to just drop out and endorse him. He is just the most sincere and honest person I've ever met. Sometimes to a fault because people take advantage of him politically. My mother absolutely hates politics and politicians, but she LOVES Jim. When I was going through the mess with the Julian administration, Jim was the only one that publicly stood up for me and showed up at court everyday to support me. He could have done the easy thing and just turn his head, like the rest of them, but he didn't. Honestly, I would support Jim for any office he ran for. And he's brilliant too. The worst thing I could do is change what he's been doing over the past 5 years. I'm definitely my own man, but I also know what works. I think with him as Council President (and he literally lives around the block from me), and the relationships I have with the majority of the other council members and new candidates - we'll have a good team that will start seeing a lot of changes implemented. Now we have to get you back here and into the Corp Counsel's office.

I think Jim will make a great Council President. He takes his time and is very thorough with everything he does, making sure all the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed. While West Utica may be losing him as a Councilperson, the City as a whole will benefit from his move up the ladder.
Larry will make a great Councilperson……I’ll make sure of that, provided he lets me take a decent picture this time!!! ;D

Oh gosh Ralph. Picture??? I enjoy his posts and opinions, but does this mean we have to LOOK at him too! ROFLMAO! Just kidding Larry! I would put one of your campaign signs on my lawn here in NE Tennessee, but most people driving by would simply say "Who the hell is Larry Tanoury Jr?" although there are a few Sardina's and Drakes and other fellow Uticans left here from the UNIVAC transfer of 1976, LOL.

And I thought I had quite the following in TN? lol.
Ralph, I need a new headshot bad. Whenever you have the free time. I'll give you a call sometime this weekend and maybe we can get together on that and the other thing.

Well, would one supporter warrant opening a campaign office here? Probably not since we are quite a ways from being able to vote in Utica NY's local election, haha.

Probably have to do a lot of Photoshop work to get you to look decent though. ;D

You got that right, Ralph. If you can accomplish that, you're on your way to Hollywood.

Glad your on here Larry, saw you on OD.com, I remember you firing up the pool often (it needed it). I wish you great luck on your run and if you win, I sure hope for everyone's sake, you can refocus the office!
Utica and its Burbs are in tough shape, I don't go there anymore unless I have no choice. That's sad to me because I spent a good portion of my early adulthood Working and Playing in that area. I see very little chance of that changing without a major shift in approach.
I don't know why Politicians and Runners don't take advantage of the online access in places like this, its a great way to get and present the real deal not just the Photo-op with sound bites the press feed us. Probably because most are afraid of un-choreographed, script-less Q&A!
Good luck Larry!
