 Gotta take my hat off to the UPD and the Metro drug unit in their successful attacks on the drug world plaguing Utica. They are out there together every night making their raids and then taking things one step further by shutting down these absentee scumlords. Just in a month and a half I have reported two drug houses in my area, one on Whitesboro St and the other on Andes Ave and one is shut down and the other well on it's way. As I've said over and over again.....it takes US to get involved and be the eyes for the police to accomplish what I have seen in these last few months and push these drug dealers and the slumlords out of the city for good. All of us working together is the key to taking our city back. WTG UPD & METRO! ;D

Exactly what I was thinking Stoney. It is wonderful that you can identify these places and people BZ, but they are dangerous people, and they tend to carry guns. It might be a good idea to simply do what you are doing, but not make it public that YOU are the one that is busting up their little criminal enterprises. You are a great and concerned citizen BZ, but you are not bullet proof and invisible, nor can you jump over tall buildings with a single bound.
My advice would be to do what you do so well, and identify these places, and then just sit back and remain anonymous. They DO have cars, and they DO know where you live, and will find out where you are GOING to live. Can you say "Drive by"? Dangerous stuff kiddo.

Thanks for both your concerns but I'm way past that stage of being anonymous. A little too late for that. Been doing it too many years now and they know who I am and where I am already. This family has endured their serious threats many times but that is all part of being the family of two policemen, one of whom was an undercover drug investigator for many years. Not much we can do about that especially when you live in a close knit area.  As time goes on the druggies don't get any smarter. In fact, one has to be a total idiot to move and sell their drugs on a street where the mother of two policemen live. Never mind the fact that she is well known in her neighborhood for being the head of her neighborhood watch group. Fearing them is exactly what they want to achieve so no one will work against them, but with doing nothing you will have to fear them even more as they take over the areas you live in.

In all honesty, those druggies are too busy getting wasted and killing each other. They are too stupid to research what Bobbbiez posts here. Even if they figured out who Bobbbiez is or that she posts on this board, they'd be too stupid to put 1+1 together and come up with 2. Also, after reading that she's the mother of two cops, they'd be really really really really really stupid to try anything to harm Bobbbiez. Not only would they be inviting their own deaths but they'd be missing a couple body parts before her children killed them. And I agree, it takes a united citizenry to stand up to these thugs. Or an attorney with a landlord scared to lose the attorney as a tenant. |

I still say be very careful. I would never report stuff like that. I do not have good luck. Besides don't the police have caller ID if someone call into them! I read the paper everyday and I only remember tow or three drug arrests. Now that New York State has cut down on the severe sentencing for drug users and abusers who get caught do't they get back on the streets faster just like prostitutes. I see no reason for arresting these prostitutes they don't harm anybody and offer a good service. Why are all the drug arrests in Utica Black. Guess no whites ever get caught.

Forgot what the Utica cops should be doing a lot more of is arresting people who are talking with cell phones with theiir hands. I noticed a patrol care the other day waiting three cars down for a light to change and the women in the car was talking with cell phone. LOL

Funny how that law was written Alan. Cops are exempt and can talk til their heart's content while driving. I had a friend who was stopped by a trooper for talking on a cell phone while driving on the Thruway. Funny part was when the trooper was going in the other direction, the TROOPER was talking on his cell phone, which he must have hung up or laid down, to swing through the median and come after my buddy. I think the thing with troopers on the thruway may be that it is obviously safer to drive 85 in the passing lane while talking on the phone, than it is to drive 65 in the right lane. They must be trained for high speed phone jabber in the academy.  I have utmost respect for law enforcement, but that law doesn't make any sense whatsoever to me. Cops don't need cell phone freedom to talk privately with dispatch, they need secure frequencies, or else hands free devices like everyone else uses. |

Well Alan, I think I'm pretty safe in saying most crime in Utica is drug related so the cops should be targeting the drug world. Not only are they finding drugs, but also finding plenty of illegal weapons which you do want off the streets and is added charges to put away the druggies for longer sentences. As far as arrest, there have been plenty of them and they are in the newspaper and the UPD now has their website on facebook and other sites for you to see exactly what they do every single day. They want the public to see what is happening in their neighborhoods and what they are doing to correct the illegal activities. Prostitutes most do not want in their neighborhoods. I sure as hell don't want them hanging in front of my house or on my street corner. They bring scumbags and druggies around. Plus the fact they do harm in the diseases they spread. Some which can be fatal. Not like the old days of whore houses where the girls were kept clean and checked for diseases. These girls today or just plain scum and most do have diseases you don't want to catch. ps: Let me assure you and give you my word if you call the police to report whatever and request your name be kept anonymous that's exactly what they will do. I've been involved too long not to know that is fact. |

Hey, you are the one with the two digit social security number. I am MUCH younger, hahaha. No matter how long we live, I will never be as old as you are, right? Heck I will be 64 the first of the month.
By the way, I have the hockey game on and the hurricanes just scored their 3rd goal. 3 to 0, Hurricanes. Rangers are struggling tonight with 13 minutes left in the second period. We don't get to watch Rangers hockey very often down here unless they play Atlanta or the Hurricanes.

Bobbbiez and Swimmy are right. Drug dealers are generally dumber than a bag of hammers.
I spent three weeks taking pictures of them and their respective drug deals from my 2nd floor front porch.......WHILE they were dealing in my driveway next door. Digital or not, the motor drive on my Pentax can be heard louder than snot! They never even noticed....too damn dumb to look UP.
Had two patrolmen stop up after they answered a noise compaint at the end of the week.
They left here with a CD full of over 100 pictures and grins a mile wide on their faces!!!
Years of video and stills from that spot for a block all around made the UPD very, very happy.
As much as I was into it, the worse that ever happened to me was the local "girls" throwing soda cans and stones at the van. Most don't want to be noticed and try and keep on the "down low". Retaliatory acts against regular citizens are the last thing they want to try, brings waaaaay too much attention to them..
However.........shooting each other is fair game. Just wish they would learn to hold their gat straight and use both hands. ;D

Yeah, for years now I have suggested to the UPD to give druggies shooting lessons so this way when they shoot at each other it'll be shoot to kill instead of in the arm, leg or a**. ;D |
