I do get it. I came of age in Albany where bars are open until 4 and I think a couple of folks are right on target. In areas where there are things going on such shows and concerts it's been my experience that folks will want to hang afterward. Say the concerts over @ 11:30, by the time we get out and to the "spot" it's close to 12. I may not stay till 4 bit I'm not interested in hearing "last call" @ 1:25 either.
The biggest factor here is the difference in environment. I don't think it's a good idea here in our area though. Most of the establishments here exist to serve to alcohol vs existing to offer entertainment and a gathering place that sells alcohol. Nothing happens in our local bars. SAME band, different bar. Someone did mention the Nail Creek and I am really digging some of the things they're doing there. Irish jam night, Tequila tasting. Anyway, the goal of most of our local establishments is to sell more booze. How about making more money by bringing in bands that people want to see and will pay @ the door for? Then you don't have to hustle booze down their throats.

Rod, well put and definitely true. ;D Reasonable solution. It's worked well in the past for bars and lounges so no reason it can't now.

I love the Celtic Harp... When I do go out, it's there or to Griff's... Celtic Harp has Magic Hat #9 on tap there and some really really good wings... Oh the bartenders are easy on the eyes too, and friendly! ;D I'd stay there till 4am easy.

At least those photos of me in the skirt were taken at the Celtic harp. I plan to use them as a learning tool for my daughter.... "This is what NOT to go for in a man baby" LMAO... My wife actually just left with some friends to go to the Celtic Harp. I get some Daddy/daughter time tonight! I hope my wife doesn't end up in some compromising photos like I did.... DOH!!!
