Anyone over 55. I am not sure but I don't think you can claim to be younger than that can ya? Hell ya, I'm a senior and I proudly ask for the discount every damn place I go, haha.

Thank you....that's it...all that kept coming into my head was Napoli's and I knew that was wrong. Obviously I've been gone way too long if i'm forgetting my own neighborhood.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How gross! Don't think I'll be feeling like eating a sub at this moment. I'm so glad my feet even with the surgery still look pretty. Damn, that's some gross looking feet.

Chris, another place you might have forgotten which was just down the street from Nash's, was Colgate's. The Momma and daughters that run that place were fantastic cooks. Everything they served was delicious and all home made even their macaroni. Their subs were the best and the price was very reasonable compare to most then. I truly miss those little family rests., we had plenty of in the past. Like pizza places today, they were on almost every street corner and most had food to die for.

I used to love Subway until my husband pointed out that their meat always has a "rainbow" on it. That ruined it for me. Jrecks Subs is pretty popular in Watertown, so I've been "converted"!

Denise, I missed something. What's the rainbow on the meat mean?

I always thought that Jrecks and Subway were equal. Soft american bread rolls and super thin sliced meats you can see through. Ralph that photo is disgusting. Dave.. The name Colgates sounds familiar but I just can't seem to place it. Where about on Bleecker. Not the luncheonette a few doors down?

"Rainbow on meat (lunchmeat)," means going bad. My Dad use to say that all the time and I always check for it.

Chris, Colgate's was on the corner of Hubbel and Bleecker on the right hand side going east. The original owners I mentioned lived in the same building. It was their home.

On that corner I only remember a Bridal shop. A pasta or sauce distributor, Candy/grocery store and the other side was a plumbing supply I think.
