About the Boilermaker...I had planned on running it this year, BUT..Ken's nephew is getting married and it looks like the date will be Aug. 1st. If that's the case, our vacation is going to have to be moved to the end of July, beginning of Aug so we'll miss the Boilermaker. I'm running it FOR SURE in 2010, and if anything changes with that wedding date, I'll be running it this summer, too. :-)

I understand about the floozies and people not listening. It's just that I think I took her sister out a few years ago. Hoo Wah! I think K4LV helped me out one of the days at the Erie Canal Village during their Civil War Reenactment this year. I see him now and then. Are you doing the Diabetes Walk tomorrow morning? We're working through the NH Police Dept (Lt. O'neill) and I believe the new club, CNYARA, has set it up. 8:00am at the NH town park. Ask for Kelly. Look for me. Expect a handshake (but I won't buy you Scotch n' Soda that early. KC2GQR

A guy referred to as "Clipper" used to cut my hair. Any chance that could be... naaah!

Nope, sorry Kit. My "clipper" came from a longtime adoration of Joe Dimaggio in my youth, and a CB handle that later arose from that loyalty to him. It originally was yankee clipper on the CB when I drove a truck, but shortened itself over the years to clipper.
We met face to face a few years back, when I worked as transportation manager at the Observer Disgrace. I delivered your paper to you, when the carrier skipped you, and I was leaving the office to go home. I was going to Phillipson's in NH plaza for something and volunteered to drop off your paper on the way.
I think we may have briefly discussed my relationship to Jim Gaylord at that time, but it was early in the day, and I had worked all night. I DO remember you well from the "nightcaps" days, along with Dale Ryder. I remember attending a rehearsal at Dales house in Chadwicks and being impressed with a roadster he had at the time.
Glad you are here with us. Someone was needed to assist in keeping Kim in line!

Clipster, when you boil it all down, you CAN'T keep Kim in line. Mom and Dad can't do it and neither can Ken. I guess that's why she's so loveable, huh?
Dale Ryder lived in a mobile Home park near the end of Oxford Rd. just before you get to Oneida St. It was owned by her mother and sister. His sister is the one who was into sports cars and knew my late brother who was also into sports cars quite well. Dale left The Nitecaps, thereby leaving a 'hole' for a bass player. I got elected. The rest is history, but not yet all revealed. And some of it never will be.
Being old, and therefore slow, 'splain to me once again if Jim is your uncle or Pat is your aunt. I never did quite get that connection. I don't remember the OD drop-off thing. Must have been a loooong time ago. I haven't gotten that rag in several years.
"Clipper" was the CB handle of the guy who cut my hair back in the early 70s. Can't remember what channel we used back then but I though it might have been you, but apparently not. I met Sarkis Sageer (Seargent Snorkle) through a guy who used to rent the apartment here where I've live for many years. He moved down near Sarge. His name was John Mudge (Sr. not the little tyke who lived here way back then). I knew John's mom and dad back then and John had a sort of maroon Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar. Interesting, but I remember John's daughter Lynnie used to call it a "tee-tar." Funny what you can remember when you get old.
The Frogg is a song I wrote and actually had copyrighted when we were playing in the Burg. Gary Flagg and I came up on the stage after a break one night wearing our SCUBA diving suits, huge flippers and masks, and introduced the song and the dance that went with it. After that we sang it once in a while, but without the get-up. My copyright ran out sometime in the early 1990s. Wanna buy it?
Miles to go before I sleep, so that's about it for now. More later.

Jim is my uncle. He is the youngest brother of my deceased mother.
I also know Sarge from when he used to hang at Tripps in Yorkville with Dave (Scarecrow). I was on channel 8 for a long time, and then on channel 3 for quite a while. That was in the late 70's. I had purchased a Robyn radio from a guy named Marty Martin (Big Bird) with whom I worked at Central NY Coach Lines.
I was not clipper in those days. Driving for Central NY Coach Lines, the folks on the radio simply tagged me with the handle "Bus Driver", which I thought to be brilliant and ingenius. Hey it worked for me.
As far as Kim goes, we have never met face to face. We are always planning to meet at one campground or another but it has not worked out so far. I am in Bristol Tn for now. Our fifth wheel developed a leaky roof, and this summer was so filled with caring for my elderly father, and my better half, who has undergone back surgery with little success and numerous complications, that I simply had no time to fix it. It sits in the driveway with a large tarp over it until I can replace some of the roof, and put on new rubber membrane.
I have communicated with her though ever since I bought a computer. I met her on the OD forums a couple of years ago. We discovered that we know a lot of the same people and places, and I love that little boy of hers. I call him "critter". They seem like a wonderful couple, and Mary is a hoot! I really get a kick out of her. I have never heard much about Mary's hubby, but I am sure that he is probably just as cool as the rest of the family.
Kim is definitely my sweetheart. If I had a daughter, I would want her to be as well rounded and well adjusted as Kim seems to be. She is a wonderful mom and a lot of fun to kid with. Her and Ken are about the same age as my oldest son. I have three boys, 38, 28, and 25.
Well, I won't bore ya any further for now, but be warned, I will be back to pester ya at a later date, haha. Have a good night Kit. It is great to chat with ya about the old days and my uncle.
We probably should have PMed some of this. We will either give Kim a swelled head or make her blush, haha.

I emailed her back and asked her, kindly, to knock it off. I think she is now officially pissed at me. I've been in that situation. Sometimes you just have to say no. Ya wanna say, "your prayer is not my prayer, your joke is not funny to me, and your political opinions are somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun (or to the left of Karl Marx.)"

I think everyone falls into the trap of wanting to forward all the jokes when they first get a computer. I was amazed at all the funny stuff I used to get daily. I simply didn't know that it was around for months and came back time and time again. I was also quick to learn of the viruses that can be contracted from chain letters. Now I have a good security program, and I only forward the best of the best, and only after virus checking and deleting all the other addressees etc.
Cost me $90 bucks to reformat my hard drive and all that, when I first came on line. Lesson learned the hard way, haha.
Gee Dave, do ya really mean that my jokes aren't funny to you?? I am seriously hurt and my self worth is destroyed, LOLOL! Sheesh, I laugh at all YOUR jokes. As for prayers, I simply ask for them or provide them for others when asked. I quit forwarding that chain stuff also.

I have a number of acquaintances that I have requested that they no longer forward every joke, warning or inspirational message they receive in email. I believe none of them speak with me any longer.
There's just no way of asking that without pissing someone off.

Kit, I don't think I've ever met anyone before who invented a dance and wrote a song to go along with it. I'm impressed.

I appreciate your laughing at my jokes, of course! You may be the only one! I guess I'm just feeling grumpy today in all of this rain. And remembering when I was on dial-up and people I hardly knew would send me huge picture files of their dogs.

jeez Dan. Kit's last words were he had miles to go before he sleeps. It might as well be down the yellow brick road, as any other route he might take.

I have been noticing the time stamp was off by an hour for quite a while. I assumed it was because it wasn't changed with DST
