Bleecker & Wetmore was the sign shop I could see the truck in the driveway in my mind so I had to go looking. Guess we're both correct only at different eras.

I might be really wrong here, but if you look on the east side of the street that runs from Rutger to Bleeker near the park isn't there a structure like, behind where the USD maintenance shop is that looks like it could have been a fire station at one time?

There was another on Wiley and Lafayette Street across Wiley from where Madore's body shop was. Across Lafayette Street from Utica Steam Engine and Boiler Works.
The Station Building is still there unlike the other two buildings.

John, yes, way back in my hazy memory, I think there was a building that looked like a firehouse, where Park crossed.

Interesting site: www.cnyfiretrucks.com/Click your way to any community on the left side frame. For Utica, you'll see some of John Kenealy's photo used above. This pumper from the town just to the south of me, Ruby. The photo must have been taken at an out of town parade, because Ruby doesn't have a building in it higher than one story or very many younger than century. Nor curbs or sidewalks, for that matter.

The Station Building is still there unlike the other two buildings. Is that the one where some electrical company is or was now? I was gonna suggest that site Dave. Nice site they have there. There's also www.uticafire.com though it hasnt been updated in a bit.

There was a Porta Rican Car Dealer there. Can't think of his name right now.
I'm pretty sure you're right that an electrical business is in there now.
What site are you looking at to see the building on the East side of John St?

Jon, you need an avatar!! I have one or two I've been wanting to try. But don't know how to install it. [/b][/quote] Jon, the avatar needs to be hosted somewhere, like photobucket. (Or I can put it on my site, if you want to keep it private.) Then, go to "members" on this site, click on your name, then click on "modify profile" and enter the url's address on the appropriate line. You have to enter your password.
