Cocaine is a low level drug like weed and should be legalised. At least it would help the police do less work.

Cocaine is much more addictive than marijuana. It is also often cut with fentanyl which is even more dangerous.

Yes but weed is also cut with fentanyl. If the government allowed cocaine it could be controlled like weed is with special " get high " cafe's and everyone wins. Just because it is more addictive than weed does not mean it cannot be made legal. Beer and spirits are just addictive and also the brains network. Give people what they need and we will have a better America.

Special get High Cafe's.... In the 18th and 19th century they were called Opium Dens... I won't ask you exactly what you're smokin', tokin' or droppin' because I think I know... just keep repeating the following mantra: Timothy Leary is Dead, Pizza and so is the Summer of Love, Woodstock is long gone: all those hippies are in Long Term Care for brain damage...

A guy here is addicted to diet coke or is pepsi. Regardless of product substance abuse can just be done away will if people were allowed to use their rights under the Constitution. It is the same thing as what is happening right now. Congress is voting to ban Tick Tock in the USA with some crazy reasoning. Well of course many addictions will lead to brain damage but that is their choice. Have fun enjoy live and America will be doing what it is called to do.
Americans enjoy the Constitutional right to free expression. Let us keep it that way. Our government cannot take away the basic right. Let it be controlled for use just like weed.

Pizzameister, it's true the government can't take away our basic rights, but they sure can tax the hell out of them.

I have never known anyone who was a coke user that lived a happy life or for that matter ever had anything except a monkey on their back. But they sure did a fine job ruining their life. And that goes for ANY street drug. Some are no longer with us.
I don't know of anything in The Constitution that says people should be allowed to use ILLEGAL drugs. But I suppose a lot of people feel that way. The prisons are full of them. Or dead.

Was he given an appearence ticket?

The article doesn't say he was held pending a court appearance or released on bail. One has to assume released on personal recognizance.

None of that catch and release bail policy makes any sense to me. It seems that the only crime that may warrant remanding a person to jail while awaiting trial might be premeditated murder.
I am of the opinion that policies should lean toward being TOUGHER on crime, not softer. I wonder if a perpetrator would be remanded without bail if they invaded and ransacked the governor's mansion.

Get High Cafes? Safe Shoot Up Spaces? Free Narcan for everyone! What a crock. Obviously you've never had to deal with these morons ODing in a place of business you have to police. We all have Narcan kits in our drawers at work, at the service desk and of course the Pharmacy. Had a bunch OD up there over the last few years, and one a couple years ago that was literally "dead" on floor in woman's apparel. Why they brought him around I have no clue, but they did, and brought him to the ER. They found his girl friend ODed in their car out in the lot and shipped her off to the ER too.
When I was at Dunkin they would respond at least once a month for one in the parking lot, and needle collecting in the restrooms became my specialty. And that was almost nine years ago. Hate to imagine what it's like now.
