A little child recently died cause the father left this drugs out and the child got ahold of it and ingested it. So how this does not affect anyone but the user is a gross understatement. It affects everyone.

Get High Cafes? Safe Shoot Up Spaces? Free Narcan for everyone! What a crock. Obviously you've never had to deal with these morons ODing in a place of business you have to police. We all have Narcan kits in our drawers at work, at the service desk and of course the Pharmacy. Had a bunch OD up there over the last few years, and one a couple years ago that was literally "dead" on floor in woman's apparel. Why they brought him around I have no clue, but they did, and brought him to the ER. They found his girl friend ODed in their car out in the lot and shipped her off to the ER too. When I was at Dunkin they would respond at least once a month for one in the parking lot, and needle collecting in the restrooms became my specialty. And that was almost nine years ago. Hate to imagine what it's like now. But it makes working there so much more exciting. I still think it is better to just control illegal drugs through what is being done today like using Narcan and having it available all over to save these poor folks so they can use again after be discharged from hospital. Don't you think.

A guy here is addicted to diet coke or is pepsi. Regardless of product substance abuse can just be done away will if people were allowed to use their rights under the Constitution. It is the same thing as what is happening right now. Congress is voting to ban Tick Tock in the USA with some crazy reasoning. Well of course many addictions will lead to brain damage but that is their choice. Have fun enjoy live and America will be doing what it is called to do. Americans enjoy the Constitutional right to free expression. Let us keep it that way. Our government cannot take away the basic right. Let it be controlled for use just like weed.

Ok Pizza, I agree a person can be addicted to anything, drugs, porn, ect, and of course, as you say, if they suffer brain damage that is there choice... have you ever heard of basic systems theory, Pizza? Also, the constitution guarantees us the right to free expression... of ideas, philosophies, speech, it does not guarantee nor does it quantify our need to damage ourselves in any way we please with the right of the government to pick up the financial tab for the care of those that choose to do so. You are enjoying this solopsistic argument because your own argument is full of tautalogical holes. Substance abuse has always been a part of the human experience and it is highly doubtful that " it will be done away with just because people are allowed to exercise there constitutional rights." What constitutional rights allow us exactly the right to use addictive substances? And please don't tell me "it is the right to life, liberty and happiness." Our basis rights are fundamental to the French Rights of Man doctrine, but they are not License to create mayhem within or without the system.

Hate to imagine what it's like now. The McD's on Genny in South Utica now locks the rest room doors & so does the one on Oriskany Blvd. Patrons who need to use one have to ask for the key. Gee, I wonder why.

Don't you think. The addicted aren't being resucitated "so they can use again". They're being resucitated because they're human beings who may just have a chance to turn their life around. Some do, some don't. Some never get the chance. There's enough misery going around without legalizing street drugs as far I'm concerned. Now that N.Y.S. has legalized weed, how much tax revenue from the sale of that crap is going to treat addiction?

Our basis rights are fundamental to the French Rights of Man doctrine, but they are not License to create mayhem within or without the system. Sorry but mayhem would not be created with controlled use of certain illegal drugs like cocaine. This centers of controlled use would be under constant surveillance with registered nurses and physician assistants always available to prevent overdose and would certainly save State a lot of money ordering Narcan for use in so many places. I know I carry Narcan with me at all times.
