Bad enough living next to the restaurant without replacing it and having a busy Stewart's store in their back yard. I feel sorry for the people that own those houses to the right side of the photo.

I did like the restaurant, but there is no reason for me to travel there to buy gas. Hopefully, they make it work. Utica needs tax paying businesses.

Clipper there is a large one on Court Street. One of those houses or maybe both will be torn down. That was approved by Utica Common Council. Apparently they were determined to be trash houses.

Of course they were. Stewart's wanted the property & they got it. If I'm not mistaken one of the houses had a family living there with kids. Money talks, bulls**t walks. The only attraction Stewart's has for me is there ice cream is a good product, but I won't go out of my way for it especially after they evicted that family with the city of Utica going along with it.

When I lived up North I used to buy my gas at Stewarts and I loved the hard rolls with butter in the morning with a coffee to sip along with them, and their ice cream is to die for. Haven't had any in a while, but I used to love the butterscotch swirl and pistachio. Utica has never to my knowledge been fussy about turning down any request for zoning variances. Gee do ya think there might be a possibility that your common council might be a bit corrupt? Oh no! Not in UTICA! How shocking!

Money talks & .......... They pulled the same crap a few years ago putting a Stewarts on Culver Ave across from Proctor Park. Neighbors complained but it did not a bit of good. They do what they want & don't care what people think.

Clipper... the establishment on Campion Rd. in New Hartford down a ways from Cavallo's is a Byrne Dairy, not a Stewart's. They're quite busy and the coffee is very good.

That brings back pleasant memories from when we lived in N. Utica prior to moving here. We had a plastic carrier that held 4 of their glass half gallons. I loved their dairy orange drink and that is where we bought our milk. They also have great ice cream and cheap gas.

I have never been in a Stewards when the new one goes up I might go take a look and plan it so I do not have to wait for an hour for the next Bus.... I heard there ice cream was very good as well as the coffee.. Still looking for that pistachio ice cream without nuts and light green in color.

Stewart's has pistachio gelato but it does have nuts in it & I think only by the pint. Kookie Q's in N.Utica has it but with nuts also.

BHU thanks for the information. Looks like I will have to take a flight to St Louis, MO. to get it.

Try that ice cream stand on the side street between Genny and Sunset near the uptown if it is still there. They used to have pistachio soft ice cream. You could get it in pints and freeze it in your freezer. We used to take home pints of soft ice cream from Dave's Diner in Schuyer and it froze well and was easy to scoop.
