Sweet Jebus, the woman can shoot a 5-inch group with an M-16 on full auto. That's just amazingly cool. Now, that's some vice-Commander In Chief! This guy's group was probably a bit wide. But we all have to start somewhere.

The first thing you have to get past is the Media's bitter distaste for this man. I can honestly say I do not remember ANY article that I have read that was favorable to this president. I remember an article about bias at the New York Times. The author of the piece (it may have been Jonah Goldberg) cited a sentence in a Times food and cooking column that managed to get a dig in against Bush. The bias has been that endemic among reporters.

Swimmy, sorry if I misconstrued your post. I simply see Obama as playing to and audience or a jury. He is enthralled with drama and finger pointing, and has shown me nothing concrete that would even begin to sway my opinion. In fact, the more I read and the more I hear, the more my opinion is swayed AGAINST HIM.
I agree with Willum about Bush. I am not happy with everything he has done, and I am not happy with some of his attitude in front of a microphone, but Willum is right about his patriotism, and his determination to do what is right.
I don't think I could blame him for having his attitude, when he is spending half of his time defending the country against terror, and the other half of his time defending HIMSELF against a bitter opponent left over from the Al Gore loss in 2000.
I will never forgive the Democrats for risking our country's security in favor of bringing treasonous and dangerous attacks against the office of President. Personal attacks that have damaged our image on the world's tv screens and in media releases world wide. Personal attacks that were born strictly out of bitterness and inability to accept defeat in a damn election. He did something right, or he would not have been re-elected.
I don't care if it is democrats or republicans, NO party has the right to place our country's integrity and our families' safety in jeopardy in order to get revenge for a lost election.
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama and others should be tried for treason or crimes against our national security, not praised and nominated for office.
They should be shown in shackles, not behind a podium. I don't know if anyone has checked to polling at the top of the OD homepage, but the last time I checked it was about 86% in favor of McCain and Palin for Pres and VP.
The country needs to come together, and it isn't going to happen through across the aisle bickering over bullshit. It will only happen when they lay down their pride, and work together for the betterment of the USA. Voting for or against a person or a piece of legislation strictly along party lines is really blatant ignorance, and puts our country's welfare at risk.
In my opinion, the only way for the Democrats to redeem themselves in my eyes is to put themselves behind a Repubican President if that is who the people of America elect. Only then would I, with a clear conscience be able to put MYSELF behind a Democratic Candidate for office again.
Time to put aside school yard bickering and unite behind an agenda good for America, not one party or the other.
I hope that Obama joins the line of losers, along with Kerry, Clinton, and Gore. Then and only then, will the democrats realize that they need to change their methods and their mindset in choosing a successful candidate.
Bring me a democrat at the podium with good ideas for change, instead of a menopausal pain in the ass with nothing but despicable disdain for the President of the United States. Pelosi's politics belong where her father practiced them. In the back rooms of bars in Baltimore. Not in Washington DC. Her followers would be more stereo typical of her father's legacy if they were numbers runners and loan sharks, not honest statesman.

You won't get any disagreements from me there! I also agree that the democrats won't get an ounce of respect until they stop the political point bullshit squabbles and start doing the right thing for this country, even if it means they have to give positive credit to the Republicans.

I am glad we agree, even if not completely. I was not slamming you or lawyers in general, simply Obama's trial lawyer personna in front of the camera. It is MY freedom and the freedoms that we all know as Americans that is at stake here, and playing to the cameras is not going to guarantee that freedom.
I would ideally like to see an election where the candidates spent their time pointing out the positive side of their own agenda, instead of ridiculing and tearing down the agenda of their opponent. Show me the meat that you are going to bring to the table. Don't just promise a sweet and tempting dessert.
If you don't like what the opponent brings to the table, don't criticize it, bring something better.

I would have to debate the genius label, haha. Just a hard headed opinionated old goat, with principles that I seldom compromise.
Just time for a stop to the in-fighting and a serious effort to address the issues that effect the country as a whole. Amen!

It's alright. I know you don't like attorneys. I didn't become one for the love they receive. I became one because I feel I can make the best difference as one than as anything else. Hopefully by the end of my career, I will have made the world a better place than when I started my career.

Hell swimmy, I don't hate attorneys. I have no reason to make a generalization such as that. I have a niece that is an attorney for Honda Corporation, and I have had attorneys save my ass in divorce court on more than one occasion. I like to bust your chops, but I have the utmost respect for MOST lawyers. YOU included.
I don't like smart assed lawyers like Louis Brindisi, and Mike Arcuri. I have nothing against respectable attorneys like yourself. Lawyers who make a living extorting money through litigation make me sick. Lawyers who simply insure that the law is applied fairly and justly, are to be held in the highest esteem. Stay in that category and I will always respect you Swimmy, for all that is worth, haha.
Just remember, I have been here on the forums while you struggled and busted your ass to get through law school and to pass the bar. I have cheered you on as being a wonderful and ambitious young man, with the stamina and ability to stick it out and make it to your goal.
I have only one caution to pass along about lawyers. Divorce lawyers in particular. When you bow to your lawyer for a job well done, look behind you and insure that HER attorney is not behind you waiting for you to bend over, LOL.

Hopefully by the end of my career, I will have made the world a better place than when I started my career. You will, Swimmy. Write that down somewhere so you will see it once every five or ten years to remind yourself. It's who you really are and where you want to go.

Clipper,
You're absolutely right. I am sorry. I heard some off color remarks directed at me today and when I posted that post, I was taking my anger out on you instead of where it should have been. For that I am truly sorry. You were there when I busted my ass to pass the bar exam. And I thank you and everyone else who supported me and gave me words of encouragement. I really could not have done it with out everyone's support.

Oh well Swimmy. We all have bad days, and we all have moments of misdirected angst. I am sure you KNOW that I do, haha. Congrats on the new job. I am sure you will do a good job for them.
