At this rate we will be back to somewhat acceptable price in about 4 months or so. It was at least somewhat tolerable at $3.59 or so.
Regardless of who is to blame for the high prices, the price has gotten out of control and unacceptable to the average American family. For those that still work the price of fuel to get to and from work 5 days a week is a serious burden to a family budget.
A person might combat the inflation by working an extra job or extra hours, but they have to be able to afford to buy the gas to get to work.

Hasn't changed any here as of yet. They like to report when it has gone down $ .01, but it pops up .05 - .10 a pop. It's all BS.

From what I have been seeing in my travels we seem to be stuck at $4.99/gal with different gas stations cutting it by 5 cents or 10 cents/gal

The national average declined by 1 cent, sparking my comment. It needs to drop much more than that and quickly, not a penny a day or week.

Biden wants to waive the federal tax on fuel but The Republican Party run by Mitch is against the idea. That's the same party that rants & raves about taxes but an initiative that will save working people a few bucks on fuel taxes? Nope! They don't give a damn because their mult millionaire buddies & themselves aren't affected by $5/gas or $6 diesel.

ANYONE that uses any sort of fossil based fuel IS affected whether rich or poor. Cadillac or a BMW doesn't run on Unicorn pee and fairy dust any more than the Ford Focus or other little grocery getter family car.
I find it rather strange and somehow sad that you are under the impression that Democrat millionaires and THEIR buddies give a damn. Truth be known, there most likely are just as many of them invested in oil, right along with those evil republicans and conservative business men.

I haven't heard of any Republicans backing Biden's plan to waive the fuel tax despite their constant babbling about wanting to cut taxes.

You might want to take a look at how many Democrats are not in favor of that plan either. There are pros and cons when it comes to the long term effects and impacts of such a move.
I am relatively sure that whatever media outlet you happen to be watching, it is most likely biased and liberal and sure as hell isn't going to have anything to do with crediting republicans for anything, however minor it may be.

Mitch & his gang are the ones against waiving the fuel tax because Biden will get credit for it. Period. Now cutting taxes to Mitch & his crew is a "gimmick", as he labeled it. I wouldn't mind saving $.18/ gallon on this "gimmick" which to Mitch & his gang is chump change because most of them are millionaires. Hopefully truckers will remember what Mitch said on election day, especially since Kentucky is one of the poorest states in the country. Great job, Mitch! Not surprising what he's doing because every single time an idea is floated that helps the unfortunate & middle class Mitch & his cohorts are against it.

-Give it a break. If Joe Biden crapped his pants you would blame Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.
Just a quick note. When you say Mitch McConnell and the republicans are against helping the unfortunate, I have to say NO ONE harms the unfortunate or the middle class more than Biden's bullshit attack on the energy industry. His promised timeline to do away with fossil fuels certainly has not helped to keep fuel costs affordable and he don't give damn as long as his misguided agenda is played out. It is not Mitch McConnell or Donald Trump that are going to bring about a landslide for republicans in November and that landslide becomes more likely every day and every time he steps to a podium and spews his half truths, lies, and excuses.

We'll see this November how voter's react to this abortion ruling & the hearings on Trump's attempt at a coup with the help of GOP member's of the HOR & the Senate.
Biden has asked the energy industry to increase production which is one of the driver's of these high prices at the pump. I haven't heard a peep other then rhetoric from Republicans on how to solve this issue. Typical of Republicans who never offer solutions other then babbling & whining how unfair life is.
