science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/13feb_lunareclipse.htm?list28328On Wednesday evening, February 20th, the full Moon over the Americas will turn a delightful shade of red and possibly turquoise, too. It's a total lunar eclipse—the last one until Dec. 2010. The Sun goes down. The Moon comes up. You go out and look at the sky. Observing the eclipse is that easy. Maximum eclipse, and maximum beauty, occurs at 10:26 pm EST Transiting the shadow's core takes about an hour. The first hints of red appear around 10 pm EST (7 pm PST), heralding a profusion of coppery hues that roll across the Moon's surface enveloping every crater, mountain and moon rock, only to fade away again after 11 pm EST (8 pm PST). No special filter or telescope is required to see this spectacular event. It is a bright and leisurely display visible from cities and countryside alike. While you're watching, be alert for another color: turquoise. Observers of several recent lunar eclipses have reported a flash of turquoise bracketing the red of totality.

Thanks for the heads-up, concerned. I'm all over this. If I can remember.

Hmmm! I will mark the calendar and be sure and watch. I have to rub it in though, I bet on the 20th of February, I can watch it with a quilt lined flannel shirt, while you guys are watching it with a parka and boots on, hahahahaha.
I start mowing my lawn again before the end of march most years. LOL

In March, I have to go outside with a 2x4 to beat my daffodils back into the ground warning them "Not for another 6 weeks, you fools!"

Frank, I stuck up a place to chat during the race, under "sports",, I guess it will have to do for now.

Clipper, you are such an a--hole! But I guess I have to add, but a nice one. Can't help but pray that your lawnmower's wheels fall off. ;D Concern, thank you for bringing that to our attention. Now I won't have to say the next day, "I didn't know it was taking place." If you wouldn't mind could you please post the same on the exact day. I'm having some severe senior and Polish moments together and can't remember sh--. Would appreciate it. Thank you much.

Thelma,, you hit the nail right on the head. Actually, a direct hit.
Yep, I do write it on the calender but then need someone to remind me to look at it everyday. ;D

Somehow it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who does that.

Yepper frank, it's the first sign you're being prepared for the "golden years."

Careful of the notes. You'll wind up writing lots of them and leaving them all over the place and not finding them. When my father died, I found a note in the refrigerator about the furnace and another note in his wallet that said, "fix toilet."

I have note to myself posted on two internet calanders. This way I hope not to forget. Now I hope I don't forget to turn on my computer so I can get the reminders. I also hope I can stay awake to see it.

Thanks Concern, but let me warn you, if you do forget to remind us I'm sure we won't ever let you live that one down.
