It hit 94 here this afternoon so I didn't accomplish anything in the line of outside work. I just took the dog out and it is so sticky and humid that it is hard to breathe. 10:45 and it is still 83 degrees. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

On morning new this AM they said Sat and Sunday will be very hot and Sunday in the triple numbers with humidity. I see Southern Missouri where I lived is in the 90's all week. I love that.

It was 80 degrees when I got up this morning. I guess it will be another day off from outside work. Highs may reach 93 again.

With all the so called safety precautions they had in place the fans at the speedway socially distanced until the finish of the race and then the local news showed everyone mobbing the fence in one big clump near the finish line at the finish of the race, very few of whom were wearing masks that were supposedly required by speedway management and NASCAR.
Hopefully all those potential carriers will be hitting the road this morning. We will see what impact they have had on the new case numbers in two weeks.

Sometimes Darwin acts right away & sometimes like with this virus the D effect doesn't kick in for a few days for Bozos who won't wear a mask.

Took the grandaughters fishing yesterday. We went to Sylvan Beach & fished in the canal but didn't reel anything in. I was hoping for some walleye but they weren't hitting. They've made some improvements where we went. We fished near the bridge thst spans the canal & their was a parking area within walking distance, picnic tables, trash respectables & a grassy area that was mowed & maintained. I had to feed the parking meter but it was only $2, good for 3 hours. Hats off to the village. We then went to Verona Beach state park where I got in for free because I'm an old fart past age 62. Lol. Went swimming to cool off & the water was perfect. I'm actually looking forward to going back again. Summer is flying by.

Sounds great. I always loved taking the kids swimming at Verona Beach State Park because we could walk half way to Syracuse and still only be in water up to my waist, haha. Were the locker rest rooms, locker rooms and concessions open? State parks here don't hold a candle to New York's.

I had to change into my swimming trunks in my truck as they went to the beach because the bathro om was locked as workers were cleaning it. Had to move the truck to the other side of the parking lot so nobody could me & get the wrong idea. I can see it now. Lol. Concession stand also was open.

Another hot one today. It only dropped to the mid 70's during the night. It was 80 when I took the dog out at 9am. I did a bit of weed whacking for a half hour or so and retreated back to the air conditioned house for the duration of the day.

I was 96 here earlier in the shade.
I took a ride to Kingsport to drop off a fishing pole to my friend's grandson. He had been wanting to go fishing so I had found a rod and reel at a yard sale and bought it for him a couple of weeks ago. I didn't cast well so I dug out my rods and reels this afternoon and put him together a real nice combination and took it to him. He is eleven years old and has two step brothers that don't treat him well. They fish with their father and he doesn't get to go. I promised him a rod and reel and told him when the pandemic business calms down I would take him bass fishing. My buddy, his grandfather, took him fishing at a place where he has been catching sunfish and crappies and has had a ball. He was ecstatic to get to go fishing with his grandfather with the rod and reel that I had bought him but it did not function properly. I literally have 16 rods and reels left, even after giving him a good rod and reel. When I belonged to the Military Bass Anglers Association when I worked at Griffiss I accumulated a widely varied selection of rods, reels, tackle boxes, and probably over $1000 worth of lures and equipment. I gave him a fairly expensive high quality combo that I had purchased years ago for my ex-wife. It will serve him well for many years to come and I put him together a tackle box with an assortment of lures and tackle.
I have a soft spot for kids and it really warmed my heart when he lit up like a Christmas tree when I opened the back door of the truck and handed him the rod and reel. His smile and a hug was worth driving the 20 miles each way When I left he was in the front yard practicing his casting and grandpa is taking him fishing this evening. I still have many many fond memories of fishing with MY grandfather and with my dad.

Me too PB. His dad has custody and married a woman with two older boys. His dad goes out of his way not to show partiality toward his step sons, but step mother doesn't and she lets her boys pick on him. Since the pandemic began and the kids have been at home 24/7 my friend Eddie and his wife take Nathan every week during the week and if his dad isn't working on the weekend he goes back home on Friday to spend the weekend with his dad. He is such a nice little guy that my heart aches for him.

Hats off to you Clipper for doing that for the little guy. His stepmother sounds like a real winner. A frw years ago I was fishing the West Canada in Herkimer. There was a kid there fishing by himself no more then 12 years old. He got snagged & lost his hook, etc & asked me if I had an extra hook & sinker. I said sure & asked him where his tackle box was. He was embarrassed when he told me he didn't have one. I felt bad for the kid because I could tell by the way he was dressed that he didn't have much. A little while later I was packing up & thought to myself this kid needs this tackle box more then I do so I gave him to him with everything in it. Gee, you would have thought that I gave him a gold bar. A few days later I went to D&D Sports & stocked up. It was worth it.
