Stifling a yawn I sit here drinking a cup of coffee at 6:15am as I prepare to head out the door to be sitting in the Food City parking lot when they open the doors. I made a list last night and even listed the items as they are located in the store. I know the store layout well enough that with my list I can go in the door, turn right and start in the bread aisle. From there I can quickly zip up and down the aisles, all the way to the dairy and egg cases on the opposite side of the store, grabbing the needed items as I go. No time to waste browsing or reading labels. I hope to find all that I am going for and be through the self checkout and out the door within a very short time.
My bowling buddy that manages a local Walgreens called me last night to tell me that he grabbed us a package of Clorox wipes. That is an item that I have not been able to obtain since all this began. It is nice to have someone in the supply chain that can grab something like that when it comes off the truck and before it hits the shelf. He said that those wipes were gone before 10 o'clock. Some high demand items like that are rationed between stores and arrive daily in whatever quantity the distribution center decides is fair, ensuring that each store gets a share.
I hope to see things quieting a bit and to see some grocery items that have been getting snatched up as fast as they can be stocked back in stock and available. I want a simple pork shoulder roast and a family package of ground chuck. Wish me luck.

I was at the store, waiting for the doors to open. 15 minutes before they open the doors there was about 6 or 8 people waiting in their cars to get in. They had everything I needed except for jugs of skim milk. I had to buy a 1qt cardboard carton because that was all they had.
I was a bit sad to hear the cacophony of political discord. Even during this trying time people are unable to put aside negative political discussions long enough to shop for groceries. We were all standing the required 6 or more feet apart and there was a very audible and fairly loud discourse taking place by two folks that were about 20 feet or more apart in the line.
People were very observant of the social distancing thing. I actually used the manned checkout because I had a fairly full cart. The cashier and bagger are at least 6 feet from the customer, and they use hand sanitizer before handling each individuals merchandise. They also wiped down the little counter where a person can write their check after each customer. I was impressed with the sanitation efforts. I am just glad that I am done for another couple of weeks other than for some essential item such as milk.
I was at the store before it opened at 7am and was backing into our driveway at 7:45. Plan your trip and organize your shopping list so that you only have to make one trip up and down the aisles from one side of the store to the other, and you can be through the checkout and on your way with minimal wandering among people or lingering in the store.

We normally do our shopping list by keeping it on the kitchen table and putting things on the list as we need them. If I use the last of the mustard, I bring the back up from the shelf in the cellar and put it on the shopping list. Depending on the length of the list I may rewrite it in store order before I go.
I did my first telemedicine visit today. At 10:00 the office called me and the usual questions, verified tel # and address and said the Dr. would call me back. He called back in 20 minutes or asked post-op questions. I asked the 2 questions I had prepared. He answered them and said the office will schedule the next follow up with me. I liked it much better than driving to his office, doing the Q&A in person, waiting in the waiting room with several other people, then having the same conversation with the Dr. and driving home.

I avoid the early Bus trips since the Buses are full of health care workers on their way to or from work. Best not to be around any of them I think. I also avoid the Genesee Bus going south. Far to many misfits. I can use others to get me to where I wish to go.

How far South does the Genesee bus go PB? Just to NH or does it go all the way to Clinton? I imagine that it is a fairly well patronize route. It most likely goes to Sangertown and NH Shopping Center doesn't it?

A friend in Asheville NC sent me the following this afternoon. I guess I was fortunate to get in and out with no problem. LOL
He said "I was on a long line at 7:45 am today at the grocery store that opened at 8 for seniors only. A young man came from the parking lot and tried to cut in at the front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot with her cane. He returned and tried to cut in again but an old man punched him in the gut, then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away. As he approached the line for the 3rd time he said, "If you don't let me unlock the door, you'll never get in there."

It most likely goes to Sangertown and NH Shopping Center doesn't it? There is also another Genney Bus that goes to Clinton and Hamilton College. Many kids take that one to go to the Vietnamese Pho ( Noodle eatery on John Street). I heard the place is fantastic but Friday and Saturday night it is packed. I wish they were open on Sunday. In winter I will not walk up that way so I will get there sometime this summer.

Here we sit again. Getting ready to venture out for a milk and distilled water for our cpap machines. When there was a run on bottled water people were actually buying up every bottle and jug of water on the shelf. I never did understand the need for hoarding bottled water. I am getting more and more paranoid about going into a grocery store with every day that goes by. Time to get dressed and head out with mask and hand sanitizer in hand.

Home again home again jiggity jig. Only about 6 seniors waiting to shop this morning. Still no bagged potatoes available. I have to go to Lowes later for a rebuild kit for our Delta single lever kitchen faucet. It picked a very inopportune time to start leaking. I will swing by the produce market on the way home for potatoes and some more of those wonderfully meaty Roma plum tomatoes.

I just sat down with a turkey sandwich and a glass of sweet tea with lemon. It is well over 80 outside so I will be staying in and relaxing until the sun starts to set. I might even take a short snooze. It was just my luck that Lowes didn't have the cartridge for the faucet. Lowes is just over the side of town. Nope. I had to go to exit 7 in Virginia to Home Depot to get what I needed. In the mean time, with the faucet disassembled, Kathy was having to get any water she needed from the bathroom faucet. All done. Works like brand new.

That Pur faucet filter I bought has already sprung a leak in filter mode. It sprays water from the seam at the filter housing. Damn thing is barely 6 months old. They don't make anything to last. We'll live with if for now until I decide to buy a new one. Probably won't be a Pur.

You think you're paranoid to go shopping Clipper, you should be me right now. lol!!! People are still coming in every damn day like it was a damn "coffee klatch”, kids and all! I went for my sinus balloon surgery Thursday and the meds they gave me are driving me nuts. I'm on antibiotics for 8 weeks and Prednisone until April 1st. No one bothered to tell me the Prednisone that among the crazy side effects that one of them was suppressing my immune system. I called into work for Sunday and I have three days off after that to begin with, no sense pushing my luck. The damn stuff leaves me with the jitters and makes me feel like on of those wind up McDonald's toys for a good portion of my shift. Just can't work like that. They can live without me for a day and hopefully this will taper off as I decrease the Prednisone. I still can't believe the stupidity of the folks that come through there though. May as well be a community event.

I hope you recover soon Ralph. I heavily dosed twice with prednisone in the hospital for my allergy to the contrast dye they used for the two heart caths. Then when I had the reaction to Brilinta and was itching all over they put me on it again. It is very unpleasant stuff for sure. I was only sleeping sporadically and was exhausted during the day. I never got the jitters but I felt amped up and anxious.
The good news is that all those symptoms went away almost immediately when I stopped taking it. I usually sleep about 6 hrs or so. When I came off the prednisone I slept one night for 8 1/2 hrs with only one bathroom call. I imagine that as thin as you have become with all these health issues, body weight probably enhances all the side effects.
Take this time off to try and rest and heal. At least even with the sleep problems you are not further exacerbating the fatigue by busting your ass at Walmart. In my prayers as always my friend.

They wanted me on this for two weeks. Uh.....no. I've already starting the weaning process. Went to bed at 4:30am and slept until 7:30, laid there for four more hours with my eyes glued open. I spent some time reading more into it and if I had known then what I know now I would have told the pharmacist to send it to Cuomo instead.
