Having trouble with I-pad. Quick note. 95% blockage in right coronary artery. Couldn’t fix it today. Single vessel high risk surgical team tomorrow. Either break up blockage with specialized instrument and install a stent or I will be taken directly to surgery for a bypass. I guess it is in a tricky place. I-pad keeps dropping off . Probably a WiFi problem with the hospital’s system. Update tomorrow.

They DID tell me that I should be glad that I opted for the ER instead of going home to bed Thursday night. He said the signs and symptoms pointed to a worsening condition and with the location of the blockage my next heart attack would have been my last.

Well hang in there is correct. I think the bypass would be best. My sisters mother in law had 2 bypass done 5 years ago both with the same blockage. She is 90 years old now her birthday was Sunday. She is an active member of one of the Senior Centers here and dances and runs around like a chicken with its head cut off.
So sit back and relax and let the Docs do their thing.

They got it done today. Took about two hours. I got back in my room at 5:30 and had to on my back and lay still until a plug formed to seal off where they cut the artery.
Just got up for the first time, ate some supper. My sister brought me a 6inch turkey sub with lettuce , onion, and hot peppers. No mayo.
The doc said the calcium was veryharD and took a while to remove, but I only needed the one stent. Glad it is over. Thanks for the prayers
How are you and Barb doing after YOUR surgeries?

Yeehaw! Home at last. Life is going to have to be a lot different going forward. Nothing like a scare like this to put the fear of God in a person. I will have to go to the grocery store tonight after we go bowling. Kathy is bowling. I am WATCHING, HAHA. They put me on Brilenta to keep the stent from plugging. Yep, another $400 or so medication. I am going to have to take all my goodies over to the VA and get with THEIR cardiology department in order to get those medications there. I haven't gotten my drugs there since I got my disability percentage increased. I may qualify to get them all free. I used to pay $24 copay for 90 day supply, and some of the drugs I take I can get for $4 or $10 for 90 days at Food City.

Had to be at the surgery center by 6 for a 7AM surgery. The doc was able to do it all arthroscopically which is good. She is now resting her eyelids. They put in a nerve block before the surgery so no pain yet. Post op meeting is tomorrow and we will discuss things like recovery schedules then. I'm at the point where I don't want to answer the phone anymore. A few days ago we got a call from our son-in-law. His mother is having a double mastectomy in a few days. They are snowbirds now so the surgery is being done in Tampa. They want to return to NY for the recovery. Then yesterday our daughter-in-law called to ask if we could pick up the kids and keep them overnight. We called her later to find out what was going on. Her mom had gone to the doctor for sinus infection symptoms. The doc did a scan which showed a cancer which had metastasized to multiple bones and organs.

It doesn't sound like a good day for your son and daughter in-law. I will certainly keep them in my prayers. I hope Barb's recovery is not too painful. The therapy for a shoulder surgery is almost as nasty at times and it is for a knee replacement. When I had my detached shoulder the worst exercise was when they made me stand facing the wall and walk my fingers up the wall until my arm was fully extended above my head. It got easier as I healed but the first couple of times was hell. Most of the rest of the shoulder therapy consisted of manipulation by the therapist and exercises that she assisted with, and using resistance bands to strengthen the muscles.
The good news is that it is as good as it ever was and I bowl, throwing a 14 lb ball for thirty frames twice a week. I have no residual pain at all after the surgery.
I am headed to the bowling alley in a few minutes for our Thursday night league. It will be killing me to watch Kathy and my buddy that is subbing for me while I sit an watch. haha.
I wish her well, and once again all the in-laws families will be in my prayers.
