The news from the Southeast is not so hot.
Last night while bowling I suddenly could not catch my breath and broke out in a sweat. It passed so we went on and finished bowling. When we left the bowling alley I found that I got winded just walking to the truck, so we came to the ER.
They did blood work and an EKG and admitted me at 2:30 this morning. They did an echocardiogram today and the cardiologist came in and told me that I had a very high calcium score 9 yrs ago when last tested and that the shortness of breath was symptomatic of what could be a pending cardiac event. He wanted me to stay here, about two minutes from the cath lab until they can do a catheterization on Monday.
In the meantime I am to lay low and stay in bed other than to walk to the john to pee.
They have me all wired up to telemetry witha pocket sized monitor, an O2 sensor on my finger and electrode stickers all over me. Just uncomfortable as hell. The food is disgusting and the bed is like a cinder block. Lol

That shortness of breath was a good fast sign for you to get help. Your heart was talking to you. Is Kathy with you?
I'll have to prepare a great breakfast for you. Place your order now:
You are in my prayers. Please heal fast and soon. The Corner needs ya.

Hang-in there Clipper and do what the doctors tell you to. And try not to chase the pretty nurses all around (they have more energy than you do right now). Hope the catheterization makes you feel 100% again (who knows, maybe your average bowling score will go up).

Thanks for the good thoughts an d wishes. Had a pretty good night’s sleep. I woke up to an aide that looks like Lurch, looming over me with a blood pressure cuff. Just finished breakfast. How can they screw up a dish of oatmeal? It looked like patching plaster and a person could drink it with a straw, lol. So far the food an d a hard bed are my only complaints. The staff and care have been great.

Barb says I can't complain about the food at St. E's. She can't get over the ice cream on my breakfast tray. I find that most foods on the soft food diet are sweet. Ensure needs a bacon and eggs flavor.

Are you ok CB? I notice more and more that I forget such things.

I was in the hospital for some repairs. Had a hiatal hernia fixed with a mesh and some staples and a Linx device placed around my esophagus where it enters my stomach. I thought I posted something but who knows, I was drugged.

Sorry to hear that . Sounds like a very painful procedure. You are definitely in my prayers. I am bitching about the food but I am sure that simply being able to swallow is something you are looking forward to. Get well soon my friend. I hope the pain is tolerable and able to be managed.

The pain wasn't bad. It was done robotically so instead of one large incision I had six 1 inch cuts. They are almost healed now. I have to limit how much and how fast I eat. The instructions were to cut food to the size of an M&M. A few time I have forgotten and spent some minutes feeling very uncomfortable. I took medication to control GERD for a couple decades so this seems better.

I went for years with one as well. The last time I was scoped it had gotten substantially larger. It seemed better to fix it on a planned schedule rather than an emergency. I made it to age 73 before spending a night in the hospital.
