Politics, trying to patch the rift among the party. At this point, with all the fuss hilary made in her non-concession concession speech, he'd be a fool not to include her. Keeps her from continuing her "suspended" campaign. He doesn't necessarily have to pick her, just wait 'til the smoke settles some more. I have faith he'll be smart in his decision of who he would like to have run for VP.
Is there a law that says you have to be selected by the party presidential candidate? what if I really wanted to be VP? I couldn't just run for it? I know that one of the amendments says that the President and VP are to be elected at the same time instead of how it used to be. In the beginning the candidates with the most votes became president, the candidate in second became VP. But I'm not aware of anything that would prohibit me and another Republican contender from dueling off in our own primary for VP, unless it's part of the party by laws.

Haha! I said I had a CERTAIN amount of respect for him. Not a LOT of respect. He is somewhat smarter than Hillary, and has started to talk about a gradual withdrawal. What I don't trust is whether he would live up to that theory, or if it would be simply campaign rhetoric to align himself with veterans and those of us that believe we need to finish what we have started in the Middle East.
McCain is still my man. Like I said, healthcare and economic issues can wait another 4 years or so. We can survive economic hardships, but we cannot afford to have any more terrorism here in the USA.
I have no doubt that Obama is a smart young man. He is simply too inexperienced, and he seems to swim whichever way the current is flowing on any given day. Typical political campaign stuff.
