I'm posting this e-mail by request. I hope the info is helpful and correct (in that order) :-)
"Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below...............
Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. You aren't going to believe this.
Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas , it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!
This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' ( I am not rich, are you ?)
When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: 'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.' (Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'.
Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house & speaks for the Democratic Party.
Does this not sound like Karl Marx and Socialism? Do you think Harry Truman would recognize this party or yes - FDR or JFK?"
Comments anyone?

I had a weird dream last night where I was asked whether I received a $6,000 rebate check from the IRS that I qualified for. I said no, and then was directed into an open room with desks lining the walls. I inquired about this $6,000 check only to be arrested for tax evasion and tax fraud.
Note, I do pay my taxes.

Thanks Dan for posting the article that you had emailed to me earlier. I appreciate it. Someday I suppose I may learn to overcome some of my bewilderment with doing anything more difficult than typing and reading on this damn computer, haha!
Nothing surprises me in politics anymore. Especially with the Democratic party. I have always registered as a Republican, because that was the thing to do if you worked at Griffiss and your congressman was a republican.
However, I never voted a straight Republican ticket when I entered the voting booth, and still don't. Pelosi's dad was a shady party boss in the Baltmore or Philly area, I don't remember which. She knows no politics except patronage. She has no clue as to what she is doing, other than bashing president Bush and listening to her own blather on the national news.
Anyone that threatens to further tax the retirement income of middle class people should be feared by all. Everyone will be affected by such bullshit eventually, and everyone should stand up and protest loudly when democrats even consider such a ridiculous assault on Americans.
My vote will be for McCain. Simply because he is the only one with a sensible solution to getting out of Iraq, and with a strong stand on illegal immigration and ridding the country of illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants are like water seeping under a door. If you live in a border state, you can detect the spread, but if you live inland from the borders, all you detect is a few more spanish speaking folks in line at the walmart checkout.
If you really want to see the impact of illegal immigration, go to your local social services office, and you will need an interpreter to tell you what is being discussed at the windows and at the desks.
Make no mistake. I don't hate Hispanic people. I simply want those seeking to live here, to do so through legal channels, and to earn that citizenship, by working. I don't want them to sneak in and steal my Social Security, that Americans have paid for throughout their entire working lives.
Pelosi's stupid notion that this taxation is necessary to help support the millions of illegal immigrants is so misconceived it is almost humorous.
AND SHE COMES FROM A STATE INUNDATED WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!!! I wonder what her constituents living in Southern California area think of her idea.
Pray for the good health of Bush and Cheney through this coming January. Our survival as a nation depends on it! Somebody put duct tape over this bimbo's mouth so she doesn't TOTALLY destroy any integrity the Democratic Party has left.
Both parties have a lot to repair in salvaging any trust or image in the eyes of the America voter. Pelosi is a disgrace to the party, and to politics in general. She is hell bent on making treasonous remarks about the sitting president, and just listening to her, and realizing that she was elected to her position, tarnishes my faith in the democratic congress in general.

Dave, your "humble suggestion" is "humbly taken". Any slight warping of HER words is completely believable with her usual ignorant rants being so widespread. I guess from reading your links, I have to believe snopes, but the other site seems to have Democratic Party leanings. Just my opinion from a limited read of the items posted. Deeper research may show posts that favor Republicans, but I see nothing but DNC favoring comments in a quick glance. Is it possible that there is an affiliation between the Democratic Party and the site? I honestly don't have time to read farther right now, and I do agree with your point about passing along such chain emails. I personally don't know how to use Snopes, but I guess I should learn to use it. Kim uses it all the time and catches a lot of falsehoods with it.
Don't condemn Dan for the post. I asked him to post it for me.

Thats it, I've made an agreement with a friend in Atlanta that before I post ANYTHING else I'll filter it through her first. She always catches my mistakes. My apologies for the mis-information and I promise to try not to spread propaganda anymore.

Snoopes strikes again- except that I remember people wanting a winfall tax on profit from the stock market. The problem is that today everyone seems to be invested in the stock market so any tax would also directly effect the middle and lower classes - a big No No for the Democrats.

It seems that exaggerated claims of new taxes are more frequent in my e-mail than Viagara ads lately. If it weren't so believable, they wouldn't be so prevalent.
