I lost what little respect I had for Townsend when he made a comment in the paper about gay marriage. He said he didn't support is because it was unnatural, & said "When was the last time you saw 2 bucks together?" What an idiot.

The last time I saw "two bucks together"? Hell with the economy the way it is, It has been a while, rofl. OH!! you are talking about DEER! I misunderstood, lol. Townsend has never impressed me, and his whining about the OIN just got annoying after a while. I am damn sure glad he didn't win the Sheriff's post, or we would have seen some lawsuits from the OIN when he butted heads with Halbritter and tried to throw his weight around. Halbritter knows more about the law than Townsend could learn if he started today and studied it until he died of old age. Tax payers would have suffered when he exposed them to the legal fees to fight his personal battles.

Well, I suppose that's a simple version of an astute observation. I've often wondered why there appears to be no homosexuality in the animal world. And if true, does it mean that homosexuality is psychological rather than genetic? And if so, does that mean anything? These are questions I would explore if I had an interest.

I guess I just look at it as being none of my business. A person's sexuality has no bearing on my life unless they were to try and push themselves on me personally. We know several same sex couples that bowl on the same leagues we do, and they are very nice people and very caring friends. They actually appear to live a much more harmonious life than most heterosexual people we know, ROFL.

The guy is just an ass. It's people like him who may end up with a homosexual child & with that attitude the kid doesn't stand a chance. What a wanker.

Do ya think that the fear of growing up to be like Dad, would be enough to drive a kid to homosexuality??

How the hell did we get from the OIN and the Supreme Court to gay dogs humping each other? ROFLMAO! Gotta love it. This forum can take ANY subject and within 2 pages of posting, can make ya go back to see what the hell the original subject even WAS, hahaha.

Clipper, we're really not off the topic, cause isn't that what our county legislators are trying to do to the OIN? ;D

Halbritter knows more about the law than Townsend could learn if he started today and studied it until he died of old age. Tax payers would have suffered when he exposed them to the legal fees to fight his personal battles. The very instant he announced his candidacy for sheriff, I knew it was for a personal agenda against the Oneidas. His claim that it was his life's dream was weak and vain. If he truly wanted to be Sheriff, he would have stayed in law enforcement and he would have made a run for it long ago. The simple truth is that he is frustrated he can't shut down the Oneidas through the law, so he figured he could harass them through "checker boarding" jurisdictions. There is no other reason to leave a position with greater power after 20+ years for a position of lesser power. Notice, he only ran because he thought he would win by default. He figured Maciol would be a token candidate courtesies of destito all but ensuring his victory. THANK GOD he lost. But I knew it would only take a real candidate to defeat him. He stood no chance when his record and commentary were truly challenged. My favorite quote of his: "I keep my hair short so that I'm not scalped."

I didn't really see any chance of his winning. While I feel sorry for the property owners in Verona and others effected by the OIN taking land off the tax rolls, I was confident that the majority of the voters see the OIN as a major employer and an asset to the area, with the tourism dollars they bring in. I am going out on a limb and saying that MOST people leave the legality of the issue to the courts and when the Supreme Court ruled they accepted that ruling.
Townsend has been on the warpath against the OIN since the first hint of their buying land not part of the original reservation ( all 14 or so acres of their trailer park on Rt 46) Like most politicians, he picked a cause and pursued it to the max. It is my opinion that he did so for personal exposure and fame. I feel sorry for those that pay higher taxes as a result of the OIN buying up land in that area, but the benefits have far outweighed the drawbacks for the overall good of the area. I also feel sorry for a former brother in-law and friend that loaned him ten grand for his campaign, and then announced his retirement when Townsend lost the election. It is the risk you take when you get involved in politics, but I felt badly because that individual is a hard working and ambitious young man that worked his ass off for that money. He just hung his hopes from the wrong star.

I had 2 cats that were brothers. Even after they were neutered one kept humping the other. It's a superiority thing. My neighbor's dog, a female, will try to "hump" my other neighbor's dog to show that it's the dominant one! My friend's pomeranian will do that to their cat.
