The Oneida County Fair starts up this coming Monday evening in Boonville. It will run until the 27th. There will be some really nice new exhibts this year. I know there will be a soap box derby car display because my son is bringing his. If you see a little Jersey calf named Ginger in the cow barn, she's ours. Come on up and say "hello" and see the sights at the fair!

I believe it is $5 for 16 and over, $3 for ages 9-15 and Seniors, 8 and under are free. There are wristband ride specials every night. Tuesday is Children's Day which means free admission for 15 and under with more hours of ride specials.

I love it. I read it quickly and I thought it said that seniors 8 and under were free. Hmmm. I guess I will have to pay. There must be a different category for seniors over 60, haha.
I miss the Boonville fair. Hot sausage and pepper sandwiches, and neopolitan icecream in a "skyhigh" cone, from Mercers. My buddy Dick LeClar is very active on the fair committee, or he used to be anyhow. I haven't seen him in about 10 years. He also used to have an ice cream trailer that he set up at field days.
Countrygal, you may know him. His dad was Harold Leclar, the cattle dealer from Steuben.
Have fun, and pet "Ginger" for me.

I have met Mr. LeClar the cattle dealer. Is he still alive?
Ginger is in for a rude awakening haha! She'll actually have to act like a cow instead of a person!

I have not attended the Boonville Fair for a couple decades. My sisters always participated in that talent showcase when they were all younger. Of course, as the oldest grown sibling ... you had to make the trip and sit there act after act after act. My mom died in July of 2006. Our kids were little then and we'd take them on the rides and walk them through the livestock tent. I'd make the trip to watch the Demolition Race with my Dad over the years though. Dad died last October. I had a cousin that participated in it a time or two. He's gone now. He died of brain cancer last year at age 50. It tends to be a bunch of unpleasant memories for me. But maybe someday I'll muster up enough gumption to go back. That post by Clipper got a chuckle out of me. Hope its a great time for you, the family and Ginger, Countrygal.

I love it. I guess you can't blame the guy for taking advantage of the view, haha. If it really pissed you off, you should have jumped up and down a few times, and turned the perverted bastard to "cube steak" LOL.
