For some reason I can't create a shortcut of a website and place it on my desktop using windows 10. I used to be able to right click and in the box there was the phrase " create short cut" and when I clicked on that the shortcut would appear on my desk top. Anyone know how to do this. Can't find anything on the web about doing this with windows 10

We tried Windows 10 on Betty's desktop. We downloaded the "Windows Classic Shell" program to make it "look" more like Windows 7......... ........two days later we reversed the update option and wiped the entire procedure off of her PC. Windows 10 is toooooooooooo damned different for us.

Alan, Try the suggestions here: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-start/webpage-shortcut-windows-10/cfd27f98-7826-4f3e-84bd-0a5cf6848120?auth=1I loaned our netbook, which is my Win 10 upgrade experiment, to my daughter-in-law so I can't try it our myself. I assume that since the above is a Microsoft forum that it is for the Edge browser. One of my observations on Win 10: when my 12 year old granddaughter first picked up the netbook a couple days after I had upgraded it, she just used it without comment or question. Her generation seems to expect constant change. I don't think they will ever have anything like XP hanging around for a decade.

CB, thanks. I followed directions: You can also right clcik the Desktop and select New/Shortcut. In the Location Box, paste the URL to the website. 3.Click Next and Name the shortcut and Click Finish. And by golly it worked.
Options 1 and 4 don't work. I tried that right click on the mouse and the drop down menu doesn't have create shortcut on it, unless I am going bling. I bet your granddaughter could have figured this out in no time. Oh well thanks again.

I am still getting used to Windows 10 and edge.
