Who was the interviewer? He asked more and better follow-up questions in that 6-minute clip than have been asked during all of the presidential debates combined so far. Why can't he moderate some of the upcoming debates?
I'd hire Derrick--the kid on camera--in a heartbeat (though he's a socialist). He was able to respond to every question logically and articulately. I'm heartened that our education system isn't a complete failure yet.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed that he was able to answer the questions, he's not a blind supporter like so many democrats in his and my age group.

I was very impressed because Derrick actually did start off talking in generalities and the interviewer kept interrupting and asking for specifics, expecting Derrick to fall flat. But he didn't. Derrick kept up with him and nailed every question.

I fully expected him to fall flat on his face too, but I was pleasantly surprised that he didn't.

Now that I think of it, Obama would have fallen flat on his face.
Derrick for President!

It amazes me as to why news interviewers in America are so accommodating. You don't have to be brusque or ill mannered to put someone's opinions to the metal, as Derrick's interviewer showed. The BBC consistently pushes news "guests" and they do it well. Have a listen: www.bbc.co.uk/radio/(ditto Radio Canada)
