For business reasons, when we left New York State Mrs. Dave purchased our home phone number for $20 (now ours in perpetuity) and then had it assigned to one of our cell phones (different company.)

Do you think that purchase will remain valid if the data base gets dumped and a new contractor takes over?

Do you think that purchase will remain valid if the data base gets dumped and a new contractor takes over? I have no idea, not having been in on the deal, but I think all of this business is simply forwarding anyway and I'm sure she's capable of talking any company into almost anything, This is the woman who a few years ago convinced Lufthansa to let her bring home an Italian crossbow (with the dart inserted!) as carry-on baggage. Her girlfriend from childhood was afraid the airport Polizia would whisk them off the plane and they would disappear into the Italian judicial system, never to be heard from again. "I'm too old to be sold into slavery on an olive oil farm," she said.
