From Dick Laurey:
Local guitar and bass player, Jimmy Palladino (James Anthony Palladino, born 1/25/40) passed away on 11/30/08, in San Antonio Texas. Jimmy was born in Utica, and, was a member of the original "Plaids" band. He was a great musician and could play all kinds of music. In the late 60's, Jimmy and I were living in the west valley area of L.A., at the same time, and we played many club dates together. He eventually moved to the San Antonio area to be near his sister and her family. At that time he was very active as a side man, playing predominantly country western music, all thru the southwest. He had a great sense of humor, and, a quick temper. He was in poor health for quite awhile before his passing. I'll never forget the good times.

I'll never forget the first time I met Jimmy. I might have been 13. What a skinny little kid! He was probably 14 or 15, but I was quite impressed with his guitar playing. He was probably some kind of prodigy. Chuckie Daniel took me to a practice of a pre-Plaids band that included Jimmy and himself. Also Rocco M., whose spare bedroom we all jammed into on a first floor flat in Cornhill while Rocco's grandmother made "the gravy," a great smelling tomatoe sauce she offered us later on pieces of bread. Sitting 4 feet away from Rocco's drums and Jimmy's amp in a 10 by 12 room with no furniture was a loud experience I never forgot, even in the ensuring years when I played in a band.
