For a wonderful fresh sub sandwich roll, use the Pillsbury French Bread in a tube. We had Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches for supper and Kathy baked up two loaves of that prepared dough in a tube. We have used it once before for Philly cheese steak sandwiches. It is crusty on the outside, fresh and soft on the inside, and is just about 12 inches long when baked. The second loaf is wrapped well and reserved for a nice Tuna salad sandwich with lettuce, some thinly sliced red onion and tomato for our lunch tomorrow. I might even make it my favorite lunch from childhood and put a bowl of Campbell's tomato soup along side that sandwich. ( we have also used the Pillsbury french bread for garlic bread when Kathy didn't want to take the time to make home made bread to accompany spaghetti. It is a wonderful alternative when there are no decent bakeries from which to purchase a truly fresh loaf of bread.)
