Jay.......I was on the road most of 60's.....those guys are all over the country. however. I did play with a local band from 1958-1962.....the bad news is 3 of those guys are dead.........the most recent being my closest friend over the years . Emil Warchol. His death is how I found this site........anyways...I play drums and would be happy to fill the drum chair for any one who has a need at your reunion.

I just approved Tom Acey's membership. I remember him well from the 60's. This just keeps on getting better and better and growing and growing. Gotta love it.

This is definitely taken before or after Little Ray became the vocalist and Augie was the drummer. Jon, do you have a date for this photo?

I think we're talking about at least 2 different bands that used the name The Blazers.
The Blazers that played at Parkway Gardens were members of the US Air Force stationed at Griffis Air Force Base. Local 51 of the Musicians made them disband the group because of a Federal law that states that servicemen cannot compete with civilians for their jobs.
Their theme song still haunts me to this day. As I remember it was called "Grasshopper" and used 3 beat triplets throughout the 'Very' catchy tune. As I remember the group had several members.

Ok, that was a little after the band I'm talking about but one of your post did state...."The Blazers featuring Little Ray, Vocalist." I emailed my sister, Gloria, in CA. She has a much better memory then me and maybe she'll be able to put some light on the subject. I do remember Little Ray, Augie the drummer, Joey on the horn, Tony on the guitar and there was another guy but I can't remember who he was. When I hear from Gloria I'll let you know what she comes up with.
