I keep getting messages asking me to upgrade to 25.0. Supposedly includes security and other upgrades. I see that I am using 24.0 now. I don't remember ever actively upgrading to THAT version. Is there any advantage to upgrading to the newer version of Firefox?

I haven't seen much difference in the way it performs.

Thanks Clarence. I don't know how I ended up with 24.0 I haven't paid much attention since back about version 17.0, haha. I will go ahead and let it install the next time the prompt comes up.

You no doubt have "Automatically install upgrades" turned on in Tools/Options/Advanced/Update Tab. This is now the default for Firefox. I turn mine off, because I'll be breezing along using firefox when all of a sudden half of my add-ons no longer work. Reason is because Firefox automatically updated itself and early in the cycle of each version the add ons have not caught up and don't work. Very bad in my opinion, and is why I turn auto updates off.
I'm only up to version 17 and I'm holding there until add on's begin to not work because the add on doesn't support an older version of Firefox. I keep versions of Firefox back to 12.0 on my hard drive ready to be installed whenever I have problems. (There are also a number of websites that have older versions of everything from DOS to Windows to a variety of software that the manufacturers and developers no longer provide. Google "old software."

I was having problems with my IE so I downloaded Firefox. Today I went to use it and it would not open. I got a message saying it was already running and for me to close it or restart my computer. I checked my task bar and nothing running so not sure why I kept getting this message. So then I restarted my computer oepned Firefox, closed it and when I tried to reopen got the same message. I thought Firefox was supposed to be a good browser. Seems I'm having issues with that also.

You can see FIrefox running in the Task manager when you get that message. I just right click it in the TM and kill it. I've noticed that some part of Firefox always runs after shutting it down. Usually runs for only maybe 2 minutes.
