My brother is insisting on dumping verizon. Which I'm not opposed to doing, but not for sprint or att. And coverage is the biggest reason I have stayed with verizon. What are people's thoughts about T-Mobile?

I would only question WHY he would dump Verizon. I have never had a dropped call with Verizon, and with the competitive market today, they have plans that give complete coverage, plenty of unlimited calling plans with internet and texting at a reasonable price. In all the years I have had Verizon and Alltel coverage, I found only one place, a spot in the mountains of Kentucky, where I was in a dead spot, and I can't use the cell phone from inside the house. Ironically, the only place I can't get a strong signal is right here in our own home. I think that our signal is blocked by the presence of the aluminum travel trailer that sets between us and a tower at the end of our road. I attribute it to the hazards of living in a Tennessee "hollow" as I can go out in the driveway, clear of the trailer and get a strong signal.
Of course everyone has a favorite, and there are positive as well as negative points to all networks, but many people that I know have made the switch from T-Mobile TO Verizon, not the other way around. I would certainly do plenty of research and talk to several people with T-Mobile as a carrier before I switched. Also, I would not sign onto a contract again. Most carriers have "no contract" plans that give all the same services with no obligation or committal to a specified time period.

It all depends on where you live, but we couldn't get Verizon where we lived near Woodstock and were not that deep into the mountains. In fact we were at the foot of them. We tried, because at the time they had a good deal. One of my kids when visiting couldn't get Verizon and my neighbors who tried Verizon couldn't get them either. That was probably around '08 or '09. We've had AT&T since. Had Sprint before and was handed over to AT&T. Coverage is OK, but weird problems from time to time like messages over a day old before we get them.

Spoke with a friend today that has T mobile. He is satisfied with the service. He also had Sprint and ended up with ATT. He also had Suncom at one time before they were acquired by T mobile. Suncom serviced only the Southeast and parts of the Caribbean and the dropped calls and lack of coverage was probably the reason that they sold to T Mobile. Only people who did not travel far out of this area were satisfied with their coverage area and dependable signal at any given time. Again, he says he has had no problem with T mobile. I have noted at times even with Verizon, that I have had text messages and voice mails that are a day late. I have not been able to get any reasonable explanation for that problem from anyone. Maybe the NSA is holding the messages until they get a chance to review them, haha.
