To bad we can't just put these scumbags on a bus to somewhere and be rid of them.

Those who live by the sword usually die by the sword.
Shot 6 times? This kid is going to have a serious invincibility complex now, as if he didn't have one before. Now I'm starting to think it might have been that Utica cop with another pellet pistol.

I guess this dude with links to past gun violence just doesn't get the hint that someone really doesn't want him around. I see the one case he got a sweet deal, wonder if he's a snitch?

Maybe why someone keeps wanting him dead. Let's see, he was shot 6 times, 4 others hit(doesn't say how many times), kind of makes me think the nutball that was doing the shooting let all 16 rounds off in his general direction. Ahhhhh....ain't life grand?

A couple decades ago when Gov. Jerry Brown (aka Gov Moonbeam) refused to extradite an AIM activist accused of murder to South Dakota, an innovative SD judge began sentencing convicted felons to a bus ride to California. Maybe we could recruit that judge to New York.

I wonder how many of those sentences held up to the 8th, for a republican felon, it'd be cruel and unusual.

I'm sorry. American Indian Movement. Dennis Banks. Russel Means. Wounded Knee. All that. Am I getting that old?

If Marquis Williams is allowed to continue to walk the streets, eventually one of his buddies from the hood will shoot enough bullets into him where the tax papers won't have to worry about the costs of prison for this low life.
This guy has been in trouble for the past 9 years - and will continue to lead a life of crime until some body ends it for him.

What's going on in my once beautiful city? This type of stuff makes me scared to come back.

jrcummings, you have take the good with the bad. By coming back, you can increase the score for the good side.

Jrcummings, we need to go back. We need to be part of the solution, and not abandon the city we love. That is admitting defeat. I am going back as soon as I am able to do so. I miss the area even with it's problems. Fine upstanding citizens like yourself can make a difference, and the values you instill in your children will ultimately be an attribute to the whole area, if they can find employment and acclimate to the area after being away.
I have only one son left in the Utica Rome area, as my youngest recently moved to Ohio to be near his oldest brother. The son left in Utica has an excellent job, a beautiful home, and is strongly rooted in the area. His employer is not going anywhere in the foreseeable future.
It is people like you and me and Bobbbiez that are tasked with keeping the old values and the old visions of Utica alive in the face of adversity.
People keep dwelling on the problems in Cornhill and the west end of the inner city. Unfortunately, evolution will take care of some of the problems. If the city doesn't spend some money to revitalize some of the neighborhoods, eventually the deterioration will take care of itself. All the slums and old rental properties will eventually either burn or fall down, or fall into disrepair and be torn down. The city of Utica has become more focused on demolition than they are on repairing the streets etc. It seems they have more operators familiar with swinging a wrecking ball and operating an excavator with a claw, than they do paver operators.
Utica will survive and thrive again. It will not be the old Utica of the 50's and 60's, but it will be a city worth investing and living in. Jobs will not be in manufacturing, and may not be withing the city limits, but regionally, the area will bounce back and be okay. Isolationism will not save Utica. I think sometimes Utica focuses on itself too much and not on the regional assets that would draw people to the area. People don't need to be able to walk to work. I commuted to Rome for 25 years and survived.
Don't run off SFC Cummings, come'on home and help restore your hometown. Besides if ya run off, I will never have the chance to meet ya in person and shake your hand, haha.

I think you hit the nail on the head froggy. He's a snitch. Implicated in murder, sentenced to time served? He flipped, and the other guy plead guilty to avoid life with out parole. Now he's ready to flip on another scumbag, whose friends obviously don't care to see Mr. Williams at parties.
