I can't wait until April 25th! Although I'm a little annoyed that they aren't letting Teddy's compete anymore. They "created" this hall of fame thing so that they will have a new winner. But I already know who I'll vote for because they were always my second choice - Babe's.

I've never had Teddy's chicken riggies, but I did get what was supposedly their recipe once, tweaked it a bit, and make it for our block party. It was a hit! :-) I posted the recipe on my blog back in....I think it was October or early November. YUM! I wish I could go to the riggie fest!

I really do not like chicken riggies. I do however love my version which is really just chicken breasts cooked along with Italian sausage and red and green bell peppers. Add some sauted onion and a little garlic to taste( i love garlic so i use a lot) no vampire jokes. This is also great if you combine everything into a baking dish add some olive oil a splash of a good red wine(Merlot,Chianti) bake on 350 for 45 min or till done. Skip the pasta but do serve with a hearty Italian bread(Cambata(it is sold at walmart). A good wine is great with this.
A splash of wine is about 1/2 cup

Sounds like you should enter the Riggi Fest with that recipe! Everybody's Riggi's are different. They even had Mexican Riggi's which I didn't care for at all, but I'm sure other people liked them.

I was thinking of applying but I didn't know it cost that much. Hell save the money, invest, cash in then go to Italy and try to find them. lol

The best riggies I ever had were at that place on the right, going out of N Utica toward Schuyler corners. I can't remember the name of it. I however was not impressed with the cleanliness of the place when I cleaned the carpets there once, when I had my business. That was 7 or 8 years ago. Hopefully it has improved, haha.
I guess if we all got to see the kitchens in half the places we eat, we would stay home and cook for ourselves. LOL

Maybe you're thinking of Mr. McGills? I've never eaten there but did try their Riggi's at the Fest. You're fight, they are good. I still like Teddy's. Maybe I'll give them a write-in vote! lol.

Just a reminder......Riggi Fest this weekend. Saturday at 12:00. As much as I want to go, I don't think I'll make it this year. Bummer. I LOVE them. Wonder who will win now that they made sure Teddy's couldn't compete again. Let me know if anyone goes!

Countrygal, Me too. I'm bummed. We always enjoy going to it but this year have to miss all. Won't be in town till next week. Bummer!!!!!!! When I was there last week we went to get a pizza from Tony's Pizzeria on Whitesboro Street which is under a new management. I noticed they had riggies on their menu so I got two orders and let me tell you it was delicious. I've had riggies from all over since it is my favorite dish and that Tony's can stand up to all. Very, very, good. I'm partial to riggies with red sauce. Don't really care for the white sauce. In fact, I don't like them with the white sauce at all. The one place that had "the best" was Joey's on Mohawk Street, when Joe had it. No one including Teddy's would have beaten them out. Joey was making them long before anyone even knew what chicken riggies were. He had "the best."

I like both sauces. And both sauces land equally around my middle calorie wise!
